Welcome to Leg 6! Last time, on Sewing. It Just Had to Be Sewing, teams made their way from Kuala Lumpur
to Colombo, Sri Lanka (which, I might add, is not the administrative capital,
that’s Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte, but Colombo is so much easier to spell). Two teams took flight risks, and one didn’t
pay off. In the meantime, Dave and
Connor rocked their way to another first place finish, and Margie and Luke
finished last and were eliminated. Who
will be eliminated. . . next? (click for more)
Kmanpat, back and ready to
start your recaps again! Hopefully I
didn’t miss much.

2:59 AM Dave/Connor (1st)
Clue: Make your way to the Dutch Museum
and search the Hall of Headstones to find your next clue.
3:27 AM Caroline/Jennifer (2nd)
– who are
fighters. Clearly. (Toyouke: “How are you "fighting for your lives"
when you came in second? Blondes.”)
3:35 AM Jet/Cord (3rd)
3:50 AM Leo/Jamal (4th)
And since bunching is
inevitable, why show the rest of the times?
Because, TAR, I CARE.
Jessica/John (5th)
Flight Time/Big Easy (6th)
Brendon/Rachel (7th)
Everyone arrives at the Dutch Museum
in the following order:
1- Dave/Connor
2- Caroline/Jennifer
3- Jet/Cord
4- Leo/Jamal
5- Jessica/John
6- Flight Time/Big Easy
7- Brendon/Rachel
The Dutch Museum,
everyone finds, does not open until 8:30.
So, bunching. (Toyouke: “Why did you bunch them before a train
ride? The train ride will bunch them. You don't need to bunch them twice.
Stupid.”) And teams race in and get
their clue in the following order:
1- Dave/Connor
2- Caroline/Jennifer
3- Leo/Jamal
4- Jessica/John
5- Brendon/Rachel
6- Flight Time/Big Easy
7- Jet/Cord
Teams are now instructed make
their way to Fort Railway Station and travel by train to the town of Alawwa and find the
Ceypetco fuel station to get their next clue.
Teams all get on the same train
and arrive in Alawwa in the following order:
1- Brendon/Rachel
2- Leo/Jamal
3- Caroline/Jennifer
4- Dave/Connor
5- Jessica/John
6- Flight Time/Big Easy
7- Jet/Cord
Teams run across the train
tracks and find the Ceypetco station and get their clues in the following
order:
1- Brendon/Rachel
2- Leo/Jamal
3- Dave/Connor
4- Jessica/John
5- Flight Time/Big Easy
6- Jet/Cord
7- Caroline/Jennifer
And teams get the sixth
roadblock clue.
ROADBLOCK:
Who wants to fill ‘er up?
In this roadblock, roadblockers
must choose a colored badge from the station and then find four tuk-tuks that
have the same badge in the windshield.
They must then get the tuk-tuks to the gas tank, put three litres in
each tank and send them on their way, in order to get their next clue.
The following teammates take
the Roadblock:
1- Rachel – who chooses green, and
decides this means she has to find green tuk-tuks. (Toyouke: “Of course Rachel doesn't get it. And is causing
problems.”)
2- Jamal – who chooses yellow.
3- Dave – who chooses brown.
4- John – who
chooses red.
5- Big Easy – who chooses blue.
6- Cord – who chooses purple.
7- Caroline – who chooses gray.
After much tuk-tuk gathering
and filling, teams complete the Roadblock in the following order:
1- Flight Time/Big Easy
2- Leo/Jamal
3- Jessica/John
4- Jet/Cord
5- Dave/Connor
6- Caroline/Jennifer
7- Brendon/Rachel
Teams are now instructed to
take the train to Rambukkana and then find a tuk-tuk to take them to the
Millennium Elephant Foundation to search for their next clue.
Teams make it to the train
station in the following order:
1- Jessica/John
2- Flight Time/Big Easy
3- Leo/Jamal
4- Jet/Cord
5- Dave/Connor
6- Caroline/Jennifer
7- Brendon/Rachel
Since everyone is on the train,
everyone makes it to Rambukkana and finds a tuk-tuk in the following order:
1- Leo/Jamal
2- Jet/Cord
3- Dave/Connor
4- Caroline/Jennifer
5- Brendon/Rachel
6- Flight Time/Big Easy
7- Jessica/John
Teams race tuk-tuks through the
streets and arrive at the Millennium Elephant Foundation to find their clues in
the following order:
1- Jet/Cord
2- Leo/Jamal
3- Jessica/John
4- Dave/Connor
5- Flight Time/Big Easy
6- Caroline/Jennifer
7- Brendon/Rachel
And we get the Detour
Clue.
DETOUR:
Trunk OR Sheets
*Trunk: Teams must choose a
marked timber and attach a chain to it.
The elephants will then carry three logs to a transport. Once the elephant carries three logs and the
team carries three logs, teams feed their elephants to get their next clue.
*Sheets: Teams must load a
wheelbarrow with elephant dung and create a pulp made of the dung and used
paper. Then they must use the pulp to
create five sheets of paper and lay them out to dry. Once completed, the director gives them their
next clue.
(Toyouke: “Hmm, work with elephants or make paper
with elephant dung. WHICH ONE WILL I CHOOSE.”)
1- Jet/Cord choose Trunk
2- Dave/Connor choose Trunk
3- Leo/Jamal choose Trunk
4- Jessica/John choose Trunk – and get the last chain, so it forces everyone else
to do the other task. (Toyouke: “Oh, because you have to wait. I see. Is
THAT why there was so much bunching? Because if teams were more spread out,
everyone would work with elephants because there'd never be a wait?”)
5- Flight Time/Big Easy choose Sheets
6- Brendon/Rachel choose Sheets – Brendon: “I’m the poop master!”
7- Caroline/Jennifer choose Sheets
Teams complete the detour in
the following order:
1- Jet/Cord
2- Leo/Jamal
3- Jessica/John
4- Dave/Connor
5- Flight Time/Big Easy
6- Brendon/Rachel
7- Caroline/Jennifer
Teams are now instructed to
take a taxi to Ambepussa Rest House and use their ears to guide them to the
wise man. They arrive and get their clue
in the following order:
1- Jet/Cord – who actually arrive second, but manage to get in
front of . . .
2- Leo/Jamal
– who for some strange reason start
referring to themselves as Indians.
(Toyouke: “YOU AREN'T INDIAN YOU
MORONS.
Afghanistan ≠ India.”)
3- Jessica/John
4- Dave/Connor
5- Flight Time/Big Easy
6- Brendon/Rachel
7- Caroline/Jennifer
(Toyouke: “Oh. So why did they have to find the wise
man? That seemed pointless.”) Teams
find now that they must travel to the Mount Lavinia
Hotel Beach,
the PIT STOP of the sixth leg of this racearoundtheworld. The last team to arrive MAY be
eliminated!
1- Leo/Jamal – who beat the Cowboys in
a footrace. And win a trip for two to Berlin.
2- Jet/Cord
3- Jessica/John
4- Dave/Connor
5- Brendon/Rachel – and Brendon promises Rachel babies and a
house. But Rachel wants babies.
6- Flight Time/Big Easy
7- Caroline/Jennifer
And Caroline and Jennifer are last.
. . but wait! This is the second
non-elimination leg and they are still in the race! They will have to complete a Speed Bump in
the next leg.
ORDER NOW:
1st – Leo/Jamal
2nd – Jet/Cord
3rd – Jessica/John
4th – Dave/Connor
5th – Brendon/Rachel
6th – Flight Time/Big Easy
7th – Caroline/Jennifer
Next week: Italy! The Afghanimals become Afgladiators. And a Roman Roadblock leaves folks running
for the pit stop. Next week, some
Country Music Awards, so we wait two weeks for the next leg. Until next time!
