Previously
on “90 Day Fiance”: Jay came home to Pennsylvania with Ashley,
and no one really addressed the fact that he's the only black man in
the whole neighborhood. No one mentioned Ashley's kids, and Jay was
super dramatic about the cold. Steven arrived in Russia, and he and
Olga bought a bunch of stuff they'll need for the baby. Olga doesn't
really have family (she implied she grew up in an orphanage), so
there isn't that drama. Steven doesn't understand how due dates work,
and he's irritated that he maybe won't have as much time with Olga as
he thought. Also he is determined to be in the room when his son is
born, even though that's not the way Russia works. Reina isn't super
thrilled about Eric and Eric's life, but Leida said she doesn't have
a plan B. She also reiterated that she doesn't like that Eric pays
alimony. Larissa arrived at Colt's house and proceeded to shit on
everything. Mom was very unhappy, and Colt was his usual
condescending self and blew off her concerns. In the morning Larissa
cooked, even though she claimed she lied about her cooking skills,
and she tried to impress Mom with the cooking. But I don't think she
was fooled. Also I looked it up and Brazil is indeed a country where
breakfast is light and simple (the phrase for “breakfast” is
literally translated “morning coffee”) so that's why she was
saying he eats lunch for breakfast or whatever. Fernanda went
shopping with Dani, who promised her that Jonathan was just an idiot,
but that Fernanda is not dumb or naive for being upset about finding
a thong. Fernanda also talked to her family, who can't get visas to
come for the wedding, which is really sad. Asuelu and Kalani had a
super awkward dinner with her family, where he apologized for not
being around earlier, and her dad sort of grudgingly agreed he's
trying. But her sister Kolini is still pissed, only now she says it's
because she's been Oliver's dad and Asuelu is taking her spot. (click

Larissa
can't work because of the visa, so she's stuck at home all day with
Colt's mom. She's also wearing a tight jumpsuit in a weird print.
After a couple of days she's finally figured out that maybe Mom
doesn't like her. But Larissa thinks if she can get along with Colt's
mom, then obviously that will improve her relationship with Colt. And
he won't send her back to Brazil, is the unspoken second part of
that. Larissa suggests that she and Mom go find a sofa. Sure. I think
we can all agree that a producer probably told them to go do that.
Larissa says she doesn't like the house because it's messy and
there's no furniture in the living room. Larissa asks Mom what kind
of sofa she'd like to buy, and Mom says she likes overstuffed, old
fashioned furniture. Of course Larissa wants more modern furniture. I
think we could have guessed that.
At
the furniture store, I am going to declare from the signs in the
window that it's maybe a rent-to-own type of place. Larissa asks for
something that looks expensive but is actually cheap. So what
happened to the woman who whined about how Colt wouldn't just buy her
new plane tickets every few days? Somewhere along the way she got
some sense and I for one would have liked to see when that was.
Larissa really likes a leather sectional and Mom says they can't have
one because of the cats. None of the sofas in here really look
modern. Mom points out that Colt would need to come look at the sofa,
and Larissa says he doesn't spend any time at home, and they do, so
they should decide without him. OK so we have different definitions
of “doesn't spend time at home”. Because as far as I can tell, he
goes straight home after work and then doesn't leave. So yeah, if
you're home all day, then you do spend more time there, but I don't
think he is out of the house very much. Mom of course says Colt is
paying for the sofa, so he needs to put his two cents in. Larissa
thinks he will love it, and tells us in interview that while Colt
hasn't given her the credit card yet (maybe the one smart thing Colt
has done this whole damn time), he told her she could buy whatever
she wanted if she was with his mom. The salesguy says that the couch
is going for $1299, which according to the internet isn't that bad?
Larissa says they should pick now, but Mom refuses. Larissa
interviews that Colt isn't her father, so she'd like to be
independent and buy whatever she wants. I get that it's his money,
but he also was dumb and told Larissa to buy whatever she wanted. I
think Mom is really just hoping he hates it so she can “win” the
argument, but judging from what's happened in the past day or two,
that's not going to be the situation. Mom interviews that she and
Colt have a joint credit card and a joint bank account, that they've
shared since he was 14. Jeez. That's not great. Mom refuses to spend
Colt's money without him, and they leave without buying anything.
It's
1am and Olga is having contractions. They're going to head for the
hospital. Steven is actually being helpful, finding her shoes and
getting her dressed. He knows he doesn't know anything and he's
trying not to overreact. The producer confirms they're headed for the
hospital. They get a cab and head over. Olga can't think clearly, and
this is hard. She tells Steven he's starting to annoy her, and he
says he's glad he annoys her, which is weird. Olga changes, and says
in confessional that she's afraid because she's only seen videos on
the internet and the women there were screaming and crying. There's a
nurse taking care of her, and she tells Steven to step back, away
from the doorway. Steven says he doesn't like how the hospital looks.
Well, it is like 3am, and it doesn't look that bad. Just not super
modern and “American”. Olga comes back out and says she needs to
go to the room. Steven is not allowed. He will have to come back
later that morning and talk to the main doctor. He is trying to grill
her about if he will miss the birth, and I seriously think Olga is in
the middle of a contraction, as he is concerned with himself. She has
no answers for him and he finally lets her leave. But not before
whispering that if the baby comes tonight without him “it's gonna
be so bad”. What exactly are you talking about? Olga tells him to
stop, and he reiterates he doesn't want the baby to come while he's
not here. I don't think she has any control of that. He's really
obsessing about this. He interviews that it's “absurd” that the
father is not allowed in the delivery room, and he can't wait to get
his family to America and get away from all these “crazy rules”.
He really thought he was going to threaten his fiance, who is in
labor, about his breaking the rules, in a foreign country, where
he doesn't speak the language. A nurse comes to the waiting room and
kicks them all out of the hospital. A producer tells him EXACTLY what
Olga told him about asking the doctor in the morning, and he nods
with a blank expression and asks “So we'll know nothing tonight?”
No, you idiot, pay attention. Outside, he declares he WILL watch his
son being born, or he will raise hell. How are you going to raise
hell when you can't understand anyone? Also, you're an idiot for
threatening a whole hospital while in Russia.
So
Leida's parents and brother are coming back with Eric to Wisconsin
eventually, so that answers my question. I didn't think that they
were going to see how he lives. They're heading back to the cabin in
Pennsylvania, and then to Wisconsin. Leida's parents start talking,
not in English, and Leida tells Eric they're talking about him.
They're saying he looks older than his age. But he's more friendly.
Sure. We're reminded that Leida is 28 and Eric's oldest kid is 21. He
doesn't think that's a problem at all, while Leida thinks it's weird.
But you're still here? I just remembered there are only two bedrooms
in this cabin and now 7 adults? Eric says in Indonesia, living in a
rural area or a small town means you're poor, so this isn't looking
good. The cabin isn't bad, but apparently they stay in five-star
hotels. It's a small house, and people are going to sleep on the
couches. Dad asks if there are animals in the forest behind the
cabin. Nothing dangerous though. Eric goes outside to get Alless from
the car (he fell asleep so they let him sleep for a minute) so that
everyone can talk about him. Oh, they don't actually. Huh, I thought
that was manufactured for drama. Eric is worried about Leida's
parents, but he thinks he can at least impress them with his dad
skills. Alless is not happy about being woken up, and sadly Alless
doesn't calm down until Granpa has him. Reina says she doesn't know
how committed Eric is to raising Alless, and it felt to me like she
was saying he's not ready to be a dad? Except he has three kids
already? Yeah, they seem to be implying he's not ready to be a dad.
Weird. Alless cries every time Eric tries to take care of him, and
Leida flat out tells Eric “he's not comfortable with you.” She
knows her family will miss Alless, and she says if her family thinks
Eric is not a good dad, she's concerned they'll decide Eric isn't
good enough for her. Well then maybe don't announce in front of
everyone that your son isn't comfortable with Eric, damn.
Ashley
cooks breakfast and tells us that it's important that she and Jay
have some alone time here, because they've been dating long distance.
He asks for brown sugar, because “in Jamaica white sugar is for
rich people”. As she's trying to find it, she knocks a bunch of
stuff out of the cabinet and breaks some glass. She says it's his
fault for wanting brown sugar, and I can't tell if she's kidding.
Judging from his reaction, neither can Jay. Jay tells us in
confessional (with Ashley right there), that he's worried about being
with her 24/7. As long as whoever he's living with accepts him, then
whatever. Ashley huffs that maybe he should change that to “as long
as ASHLEY accepts me”, like he's going to move out or something?
Later
that evening they go out. Ashley wants Jay to feel like he has
friends, because he has no one here. So apparently she told him they
were going out to dinner, but instead she's surprising him with a
party with all her friends. I hope he's extroverted enough for that.
We're also reminded that Ashley's best friend Natalie doesn't like
Jay, because Natalie came to her with proof that Jay was cheating and
Ashley blew her off. Ashley says Natalie has no right to be
concerned, because she has a story in her head about whatever
happened in Jamaica and Ashley doesn't care about what happened in
Jamaica. On the one hand, it's not Natalie's life, sure. But if
Ashley has leaned on Natalie after everyone has cheated on her,
complained about how terrible men are, asked for a ton of emotional
support, etc., then I think Natalie has a right to say “You know
this guy is cheating on you too?” because she knows when it all
comes crashing down, Ashley is going to come crying to her and
putting an emotional burden on her. Also I notice the argument isn't
“Jay would never” but “I don't care what he did”.
Jay
is actually happy to have a surprise party, and he says he's having a
great time and he really appreciates this. There's some dancing in
the kitchen, while the cameras film Natalie looking pissed. Natalie
interviews that she wants Ashley to be happy, and she wants to get
along with Jay, but she's not going to pretend he's never done
anything shady. Natalie and Jay go outside to talk. Well, Jay says
he's going to go outside, Natalie follows him and says she wants to
talk, and a cameraperson follows because there's no way they're going
to miss this shit. Also we all know there's a high chance some
producer told the two of them they needed to have this conversation.
Natalie
starts with saying they all know they have their differences. But
Natalie is just trying to protect Ashley. Jay just straight up asks
why Natalie told Ashley that Jay was cheating on her. He was pissed,
and he says he could lose Ashley. OK but why have we not heard a
denial of the situation? Because right now it sounds like “How dare
you snitch on me”. Or did you edit that part out too? I know you
love the shady editing, producers. Natalie says that she's not the
one cheating on people. Jay plays dumb, and gets Natalie to say he
was with girls before, and then he's like “what was I doing with
them?” Natalie just says there was cheating going on, and Jay
replies “fucking, sucking, drinking?” Natalie won't make eye
contact and says “that's nice”, but I'm wondering if he has a
point? “Cheating” is not something with a hard and fast
definition. It depends on who you're talking to. Natalie reiterates
that he cheated with two girls and she doesn't know how Ashley can be
happy with him if he's not genuine. She swears she didn't just make
up his cheating. You know, she said she overheard him talking, but
we've never heard exactly what he was saying, and now I am really
curious. Jay says the past is the past, and now is the future. But
what if they have a fight and he needs to just “get out a little”,
will he cheat on her again and lie about it? Jay says he's out of the
drama right now. Natalie interviews that Jay is a child and a
cheater, and how can you possibly think he won't do it again? Jay
goes back inside and Natalie is still pissed, because she's watched
Ashley be affected by cheating and now it's this big thing about
Ashley being hurt. But at this point, even though I think Ashley is
being willfully ignorant, I think Natalie has to let it go. She said
something to Ashley, who flat out said she didn't care, and she said
something to Jay, who blew her off. Natalie has said her piece and no
one listened, and they're both adults. Just have to step back and say
“I told you so” when it all blows up. No, that's super rude, but
you see where I'm going.
Ashley
says she saw that “Natalie pulled Jay outside”, which isn't how
it happened but sure. Ashley is sure it was dramatic. Jay makes sure
to kiss Ashley a bunch in front of Natalie. Ashley continues in
confessional about how Jay just got here and now is not the time. I
have the feeling that for Ashley it would never be the right time.
Not to mention my suspicion that they were told to speak to each
other. No one here is really a great person? I also get the feeling
Ashley is probably the type of person who ditches their friends every
time they're in a relationship, and then after the break-up demands
all their attention.
Fernanda
and Jonathan are a month into their 90 days. Fernanda is feeling very
alone, and Jonathan knows he's not made it super easy for her. Plus
she's very bored, and isn't making friends that easily. Jonathan
tells her they're going to have a nice dinner at the beach, so she
can get out of the house. Aww. They head to Myrtle Beach for the
evening, which is about a 90 minute drive. He hopes that going to the
beach will help rekindle whatever feelings they had while in Mexico.
Fernanda says there's nothing fun in Lumberton, where they live. She
basically says the same thing about the beach reminding them about
Mexico. They joke about his feeding her and act cute. I find it
pretty healthy that they both view the beach in the same way, as a
way to remind them of when they met. You know what I mean?
Then
Jonathan wants to start talking about wedding planning, because it's
only two months away. Fernanda wants to meet his family first, and
she interviews that Jonathan doesn't talk about his family. Jonathan
replies that she's not marrying his family. But Fernanda is worried
because it's about to become her family too, and she needs to know if
they can love her. He's said his mom is a good mom, but he has
problems with her. Like, when he would go to Mexico to see Fernanda,
he wasn't going home to Chicago. Jonathan reassures Fernanda they'll
have a plan for if his family loves her, and one for if she doesn't.
But let's say they love you, how do you want the wedding to be?
Fernanda says he doesn't get it. She's here alone, and it's very
difficult. If his family takes the time to get to know her, and then
doesn't support the marriage, she probably won't marry him. She can't
be happy alone, she needs to meet his family. Jonathan promises they
won't talk about the wedding until Fernanda meets his family. Then he
interviews that he hasn't told Fernanda his mom found out about the
engagement on social media. You idiot. His mom thought he was having
a midlife crisis, and he knew his mom would have issues, so he didn't
tell her. Mom is jealous. I mean it sounds like he's distanced
himself from a bad situation, but for some reason won't explain that
to Fernanda.
Asuelu
has finally gotten Oliver to be happy to see him. Kalani thinks that
her family's objections are because he's Samoan and also they don't
know him. That...is not the problem? Maybe for her dad, but her
sister has very well-defined issues that are not those two. Kalani
interviews that Asuelu has a lot of work to do to win her family
over, but right now she just wants to enjoy her family of three. Why
does Asuelu have to do all the work when half of this conflict is
because you lied to your sister about how everything went down? Also
I feel like this is a little immaturity and avoiding the problem.
They go to the park and put Oliver in a swing. Kalani says that
Asuelu will still have to hold him because he can't support himself,
and it looks like he just gets the baby in the swing and leans him
against the front. Kalani gets bossy about it, but Asuelu thinks he's
doing what he needs to. Kalani says it's too fast, so they stop.
Kalani is kind of over-protective, and is not afraid to declare that
when Asuelu thinks he's being a good dad, he's actually not.
They
go grab a seat to talk about...whatever. Asuelu asks what kind of
house they'll move to, and Kalani doesn't know. Does she have a job?
She says they can't afford to stay at the Airbnb anymore, because she
quit her job just before Asuelu came, so she could spend time with
him and Oliver. You idiot. He can't work and you quit your job so you
could hang out? She then continues to interview that she doesn't have
any more savings because the visa process took a long time and I
guess was expensive, and Asuelu didn't contribute. Didn't contribute,
or you said you'd pay and he took you at your word? Apparently there
is a solution, even though in the actual conversation she says she
has no idea. Her parents have a second home in Utah, so they're going
to move there. She's lucky they had that. However her brother lives
there permanently, and apparently her parents will randomly stop by.
But they'll have two weeks until her parents show up. Kalani thinks
her brother is there to keep an eye on Asuelu, which is bullshit. He
lives there. You're crashing at his house, essentially, because you
were too immature to realize you shouldn't quit your job when your
fiance can't get one. Asuelu asks about having sex when her parents
are around, and there's a stupid exchange where they both pretend
it's the OTHER person who is too horny. Asuelu claims Kalani wants to
have sex all the time, just like in Samoa. “Because I'm sexy
moves”. Heh. Kolini is not coming with them. Kalani is actually
upset to leave her sister behind, which kind of surprised me. She
tells Asuelu she'd like to go out with her sister, because the dinner
was so awkward. She loves the bond between Oliver and Kolini, and
she's hoping that before they move to Utah they can work this out.
Kalani is also hoping for a second chance from her sister, and she
phrases this in a really weird way where it sounds like she's saying
she hasn't actually told Kolini the whole truth about the cheating
thing. But I thought she did that at the dinner right before Asuelu
arrived? Asuelu knows Kolini doesn't like him. Has Kalani ever told
him what all happened? That she lied to her sister, so Kolini thinks
he cheated, and that's why this is so awkward? Kalani tells him to
behave, which is ridiculous. Asuelu is the best behaved person here,
aside from Kalani's mom. Kalani is still upset about leaving her
sister, and she says she and her sister have a bond no one can break,
although I would argue she's done a damn good job of breaking it
herself.
Leida,
Eric, and company finally arrive in Wisconsin. Eric does not want
Leida's parents to see the apartment, because he thinks they won't
think it's good enough. I mean, it's a perfectly fine apartment, but
not for people with domestic help. So Eric's plan is...don't let
Leida's parents near his apartment. Uh huh. He's rented them an
apartment downtown (probably another Airbnb) and his family is
waiting to greet them. Eric's dad and stepmother are there, and his
ex and his youngest daughter. His parents are sweet. Eric interviews
that he and his ex had an amicable divorce and they're basically
family. I mean, they're still co-parenting, because I think his
youngest is 11 or 12. Leida says the extended family is new for her.
Leida's parents come in and everyone shakes hands. Alless is shy.
Leida interviews that it's weird for Eric to have a really good
relationship with his ex. Weird, but I think it's a great thing.
Sometimes people love each other but they shouldn't be married. Leida
doesn't want to be her best friend, but she knows she'll have to be
nice. It kind of sounds like she had planned to be a bitch to his ex
and is now discovering she can't. They all squeeze into the living
room, where they sit in silence which is awkward. His ex asks about
the wedding, and Eric has been doing all the footwork. More silence.
His dad thinks she has plenty of time to make decisions. Reina speaks
up that she hopes they all support Leida becoming a doctor. It sounds
like she is licensed (or whatever the equivalent is in Indonesia) to
be a general practitioner. Leida always wanted to be a doctor in
America, because doctors in Indonesia don't make that much money.
Leida asks where Eric's other two daughters are, and they are at
work. She implies they should have dropped everything to greet her,
but why would they? Leida is pissed they didn't show up to greet her.
They're not taking off work. Plus we know they're not super thrilled
about the whole thing, especially the middle daughter who is being
kicked out of Eric's apartment. It's a few hours. Calm down. Leida
has decided his kids don't care about her. How is this woman going to
deal with medical school? Reina asks when Leida is going to see her
new home, and Eric says right now. I find it very surprising her
family doesn't ask to come along. It seems suspicious to me. I mean,
shit, my parents would have asked to come along, and they've got far
lower standards for a “good” home. Who am I kidding, my dad would
have started several fights by now if he didn't approve of the whole
situation. Eric knows Leida is going to be disappointed, but he hopes
this is enough.
Larissa
and Debbie are driving around, I guess after leaving the furniture
place. Larissa says that the only person who should control a man's
wallet is his wife. Great. They go pick him up from work. Larissa
gives an interview in Portuguese, which I only mention because it's
the first time she hasn't spoken English. She says Colt needs to cut
the umbilical cord with his mother because he's 33 years old. I don't
disagree. They pick up Colt and Larissa tells him she found a cute
sofa, “but I would like to know what do you think.” Hmm. Mom says
Larissa wanted to buy it right away, but she thought it would be
better if Colt looked at it. It's not right to buy something without
Colt looking at it. Larissa is pissed, which everyone can tell
because she has no poker face. Larissa tries to salvage this by
saying she just wanted to surprise him. Uh huh. I don't remember that
argument. Colt tells her he appreciates the gesture but he would like
some input on something like that. It's a big decision, so her “oh
well we could sometimes do things without checking with the other
person” falls flat. Larissa practically rolls her eyes (he's in the
back seat and can't see her) and fake apologizes and says she'll
follow the rules. Mom asks Colt again if he thought they should have
bought the sofa, and when he says no she just looks at Larissa in
triumph. Oh, she's glad he said no. He and Mom also discuss that
there are more furniture stores to look at. In confessional, a
producer asks if he thinks the three of them will share a bank
account after the marriage, and Colt says he and his mom will
probably continue to share a bank account because it's easier. No. No
wonder your previous girlfriends told you to separate from your mom.
That complaint is not just Larissa. He isn't comfortable giving
Larissa the credit card because he knows she'll spend all his money.
OK that's true.
The
morning after the party, Jay says everyone was nice and he had a good
time. Ashley asks what happened with Natalie, and I fully understand
her because I would probably do the same thing. But also it's drama
between Natalie and Jay and maybe just leave it? Jay says he wasn't
comfortable because Natalie is all about the drama and she was
chatting too much. She interrupted his whole mood. He tells Ashley
that Natalie wanted him to admit he was cheating, and in confessional
he FINALLY denies it and says it's a bunch of shit. I swear this is
the first time he's actually said it wasn't true, right? Jay then
says that he's dealing with a lot, moving to a new country and all,
and he doesn't need Natalie on his back, so he'd like her to be out
of their lives permanently. Damn. She talked to you once, and now
it's an ultimatum? I'd understand if it was six months later and she
brought it up constantly, but this immediate ban feels really harsh
and also like is afraid of Natalie hanging around and influencing
Ashley. Ashley, meanwhile, tells Jay that she wishes Natalie would
get over it, because only Jay knows the truth, “so it doesn't
matter”. What in the fuck does that mean? I thought Natalie was
your best friend? I almost hope Jay cheats on you and Natalie refuses
to give you any support and you have to suffer alone. Because the
argument “I know she accused you of cheating, but only you know the
truth so she needs to drop it” is bullshit. You're basically saying
you believe Jay over Natalie, when you've said many times he's a
player, and you also said you don't care what happened in Jamaica.
Ashley is just so delusional right now. Like she can't even
understand most of why Natalie is concerned is because Ashley herself
gets so distraught when she gets cheated on. Now Natalie is actively
out to stop their marriage, apparently. Ashley claims she would never
ever try to ruin someone's relationship. I highly doubt that's true.
She might voice her opinions, but if they insist, Ashley claims
she'll stand by them even if they're doing something stupid. I doubt
that too, and apparently she doesn't think Natalie's been voicing her
opinions this whole damn time. So your friends aren't really friends
unless they support you no matter what? You gotta have at least one
friend that will say “this is stupid and I can't pretend to be
happy for you when you're being an idiot.” Jay wants Ashley to just
tell Natalie to shut the fuck up because she's too annoying. Then he
asks what Ashley is going to do about it, which, the problem is
between Natalie and Jay so honestly it's their problem. Ashley should
tell him to deal with it himself. I suppose it's possible that
Natalie always sabotages Ashley's relationships, but doesn't it seem
far more likely that she's right about this?
Two
days later, we find out that Ashley has kicked Natalie out of the
wedding, because she has to “distance” herself from the drama. I
knew Ashley was the kind of person to ditch her friends when she got
a new relationship. I hope Natalie said “good riddance” and
didn't argue. Ashley claims it's been hard to cut her out, but it
only took her two days so I don't think it was that hard for her. She
also doesn't want to play the middleman, but you could tell them to
be adults and not involve you. Ashley doesn't want to look at wedding
photos and see people who didn't support their relationship. OK, so
that's a good point, but it sounds like Ashley and Natalie didn't
actually have their own conversation. Ashley just texted her and
kicked her out of the wedding. So we don't know if Natalie would have
bailed on her own or not. Also I am pretty confident in saying Ashley
doesn't understand that breaking this relationship means if Jay
cheats on her and she dumps him, she can't go running to Natalie for
sympathy and support.
Ashley
curls her hair and then goes to meet her bridesmaids to pick up their
“wedding dresses” from the shop. Yes she said wedding dresses.
She is also looking forward to “reliable, supportive people” in
her wedding party. Whatever. These are the same girls who were going
to be in her previous weddings, up to buying dresses. Really? I don't
know that I'd shell out for more than one dress for someone on their
third engagement. OK, only one previous engagement was planned and
paid for. Ashley has to tell the shop worker that Natalie isn't in
the wedding so they don't need to try on the dress. I wonder if the
worker's reaction was less “oh, let me play up the drama for the
camera” and more “great, now we have a plus-sized gown that no
one will pay for”. Ashley says she's going to explain to “her
girls” what exactly happened. These girls have always understood
she's wanted a big wedding so Ashley feels they'll understand why she
kicked Natalie. What does kicking out Natalie have to do with a big
wedding? Anyway, Ashley spins this whole thing about how Natalie
didn't get that she was on thin ice, and she can't possibly know what
he was doing in a whole different country, and she doesn't support
him. Notice that Ashley has been whining about drama but she's
telling them this in front of the shop worker. She's probably loving
this, actually. Ashley tells the other bridesmaids that Natalie is
just jealous and needs attention and drama. Pot calling kettle. I
mean...we don't know these people, but this is a pretty extreme
reaction, and like I said I guess Natalie could have always been like
this, but Ashley hasn't once said anything about it. Like, “Natalie
always thinks my men are cheating on me” or anything. But I guess
it could be true. One of the other girls says that of course she's
questioned the relationship, but she's going to be there for Ashley
no matter what. Ashley says you don't attack somebody, which is not
exactly what happened, but go off I guess. Honestly, Natalie, you're
better off without these people. Someone else says they've been
friends for so long, but it's Ashley's call and sometimes you make
sacrifices for a relationship. Oo. Not a rousing endorsement. Someone
tells Ashley she made the right choice for her sanity (eye roll) and
it's ridiculous. Ashley says she's not going to change her mind. Also
side note, the dresses aren't that great. Ashley threatens that if
anyone causes drama or tries to question the relationship, they're
out.
Asuelu
has been here for ten days, and Kalani says they're leaving for Utah
in the morning. But apparently this is the best time to have dinner
with her sister and talk about things. Why does she always leave
everything until the last minute? Is that a production thing or is
she a procrastinator? At least she's admitting that Kolini is mad at
Asuelu, and she should be mad at Kalani. Asuelu hopes that he'll find
out what Kolini doesn't like about him, so he can apologize. “Dinner”
appears to be a veggie tray and some cheeses and meats. Kolini offers
Asuelu wine, because he's never had any, and at this early point she
seems to be in a good mood. She interviews that she doesn't like
Asuelu because Kalani said he cheated on her. So not only is she
giving up her role in Oliver's life, but it's to someone she doesn't
trust. There is no mention of how Kalani told her that it was all a
lie, or that she's still Oliver's auntie. Is auntie not good enough
for her? Maybe.
They
head to the patio to drink wine by the firepit and laugh at Asuelu
making faces because he doesn't like wine. Kalani doesn't want to
leave the state with “things” being weird, and she wants to be
able to come back and visit without weirdness. Maybe the lack of
weirdness can start with her making eye contact with her sister.
Kolini responds that it will be hard with her and “my baby” not
being close to her. Yes, she says “my baby”. Kolini says she was
under the impression Asuelu cheated on her sister, so that's why she
hated him. Now she just wants to hear from him that he didn't cheat.
Asuelu confirms Kalani's story that they didn't know if she would
ever come back to Samoa, so they weren't serious. Also at that time
Kalani told him she doesn't like “brown guys”. Ouch. Once she
returned, then they were serious. Kolini wants to know this is it
now. Kalani acts offended and says he's the first person she's really
loved, he's here, they're both fully committed. Stop acting insulted.
Kolini says she wants to forgive Asuelu and move forward, but she
needs to know he loves her and he's here to be a good dad. Asuelu
gets choked up and says he wants to prove himself to the family, and
that he can do more than what they think about him. Good answer.
Kolini says she'll believe him, although she still manages to sound
insulting about it. How about an apology? From either one, Kolini for
doubting him, or Kalani for lying? She never apologized for letting
her sister hate her fiance for so long. Kolini claims to believe him
but still be skeptical, which I think means she doesn't believe him
at all, but knows she needs to or else she'll look bad. Kalani knows
her sister needs proof.
Leida
finally arrives at Eric's apartment. She of course is expecting a
lot, because Eric has never really been honest. First of all, there's
no elevator, which sucks ass no matter what. When they get there,
it's not clean at all, and the editors manage to put in some buzzing
fly sounds. Eric's daughter left a giant mess and then bailed. Eric
is pissed because he asked Tasha to clean. Yeah, but you also asked
her to move out and she hasn't yet, so. Everyone is pissed. Leida
thinks Tasha did this on purpose, which she might have. Leida sees
the bedroom, and declares that the bed is too small. I think it might
only be a full, which two people can technically sleep on. But she
asks if this is her bed and he'll get another one? She declares they
can't share a bed, one of them will have to sleep in the living room.
Now she thinks Eric has lied to her. Also she needs both closets. The
sofa is like, an inflatable? No real sofa? Anyway, they go out on the
balcony, and Eric is seething and looking straight ahead, while Leida
is crying and says her sister won't be happy. Leida has an interview
and she's upset that she's been telling her family that Eric will
provide for her. Meanwhile on the balcony she's crying that her home
in Indonesia is bigger and not messy and she has people to help her
clean up. Eric does feel bad for disappointing her. Leida is crying
that she'll have to clean all this up by herself, and Eric says she
doesn't. So it's good to know he's going to share chores. Leida is
not hearing this. She says she didn't make that mess, and she needs a
person to at least help her. Yeah, how about that person be Tasha?
Eric says this, but then he says she's making a mountain out of a
molehill. Maybe a little bit, but I'd be pissed off if my new fiance
showed me my new apartment and it was a dump. Leida cries that she
doesn't feel like she's home and she feels like she wants to go back.
Steven
is still pissed off because no one will let him in the delivery room.
If only she had her visa, then she'd be giving birth in a “normal”
hospital. You need to calm down, dude. There's only so much you're
going to be able to do when you aren't actually married and you don't
speak Russian. Also the entitlement here is off the charts. Olga has
been lonely, being pregnant and not having Steven. Steven at least
has progressed to signing paperwork, and he's worried she'll have the
baby without him. It's not about you, Steven. Jeez. Then he gets
permission after six hours so all his posturing was for nothing. He
actually asks Olga if it hurts, like a fucking moron. A doctor comes
in and says she's going to give birth today, but the baby's head is
very big and may cause problems. He wants to do a C-section. Steven
does an actual smart thing and agrees with the doctor. Olga doesn't
want an operation, but she's going with them to the room. Now all of
a sudden Steven is like “I'm not prepared for this moment.” I
hope he faints just so someone can say “this is why we don't let
fathers in the delivery room”. I know he wants to be there for his
son, so his son doesn't grow up without a father. And that's a great
thing, but he's being an idiot about things.
Colt
and Larissa go to meet his cousin and his wife. As they get out of
the car, Colt holds out his hand for Larissa and says “Darlin'”
and full disclosure I made a face. Mom still doesn't like her, I
guess, so I think Colt is hoping at least someone in his family likes
her. John's wife greets them with all the kids. Larissa confirms that
she's still having problems with Mom, and so she also hopes she gets
along with John. Larissa admits that the weather has given her
problems, because Brazil has beaches and not desert. Colt lies that
they're getting along really well at home, and Larissa calls him on
it. Then we just get right to it, and John asks if Larissa loves
Colt. She says she does, and he asks how she shows love to Colt. Oo,
good question. Larissa says she cleans the house, takes care of his
clothes and him, and always try to encourage him. Has she been doing
these things? I guess she could be cleaning the house. Then she says
that maybe to Colt, showing love is just having sex. What is she
saying here? That Colt doesn't show her love except to have sex with
her? Or does she think that John's only asking the question because
Colt says she doesn't love him because she won't have sex with him?
What? Colt starts answering the question, even though no one asked
him. He says it's not just sex. So I guess he interpreted that as
“Colt only shows me he loves me by having sex”. Larissa
interviews that Colt has a big sex drive, and maybe he thought
Brazilian women were all sexy and wanted sex all the time, but she 's
not the same girl that he dreamed. But didn't she say on the last
episode that men only like sex and good food? Larissa tells John that
Colt would love to spend all day in bed together, and eat together,
and do everything together. John and his wife are quick to say they
didn't mean that's a bad relationship, but Larissa doesn't think you
should be joined at the hip. OK, that's totally fair, but you can't
drive and you don't know anyone else so where are you going to go?
Colt claims he also needs his space, even though that's not what she
said? John and his wife think that Larissa probably has feelings for
him, but Colt is being naive and desperate, and has his blinders on.
John flat out says in front of Larissa that Colt could always break
it off. Then he asks Larissa directly if she's using Colt for a green
card. Larissa claims to love him and that he's patient. The green
card is just so she can stay here with him. “And he can take the
divorce any time that he wants.” Uh huh. Larissa is mad that John
was so rude to her, but she's been rude to everyone so whatever. Colt
says some shit about high risk or something. John interviews that
they're screwed. Larissa is just here for a green card and to get to
America. John thinks Colt has a chance to “enjoy” Larissa for the
90 days and then send her back to Brazil. Oof. Colt thinks this
conversation went OK. When Larissa says John was rude, Colt blows her
off and says John is just worried about him. Maybe it's like the cats
and he needs a couple of days. Yeah but Mom still doesn't like her.
Jonathan
and Fernanda are having fun on the beach in Myrtle Beach. They're
going to go out to the club tonight, and Fernanda is excited because
it's like how they met. She asks what kind of music they play, like
is it “punches punches punches”? She means like EDM or techno
with a strong bass, which you can replicate by saying “punches”
and accenting the CH. Hee. Fernanda says she's going to take a
shower, but she's gotta hurry because the clubs close earlier. She
says she likes to show off her body, and she looks hot. They joke in
interview about how long it takes her to get ready, which is fun.
Fernanda
can get in the club, but she's still 19 so she can't drink. At least
she can get in. They start dancing, and Fernanda says people were
looking at them but they're having fun in the moment. Jonathan is of
course drinking, several shots. Fernanda says when he drinks he does
stupid shit, as many people do. When he orders a double, she tells
him it's his last, because she doesn't like him being drunk without
her. She goes to pee, and Jonathan is still dancing because of
course. Some random blonde girl comes up to grind on him, and he
actually does stop her and say he can't dance with her because he's
engaged. Fernanda of course appears and starts trying to fight the
girl. To be fair, blonde girl was either too drunk or too stupid to
understand the simple sentence “I can't dance with you”. Fernanda
storms out of the club and curses at him. She demands the car key.
She won't believe that he was trying to get rid of the girl. She
wants the car key, and he's pissed she's going to leave him there,
but he gives her the keys. Then we find out in interview that she
basically did the same thing in Mexico: some girl was looking at
Jonathan, and he just looked at her, and Fernanda started a whole
big bar fight. Jonathan thinks her reaction this time is going to be
crazier than that. Fernanda doesn't believe him and she doesn't feel
that he really wants to marry her.
Next
time, assuming the previews have any truth to them: Colt decides to
actually propose and Larissa says “Oh no, Colt”, Asuelu takes
Oliver out of his carseat while they're on the highway and Kalani
acts like he tossed the baby across the room, Leida's family finally
sees the apartment and are of course not that thrilled, Jonathan
tells Fernanda if she presses charges (?!) that they'll never give
her citizenship and she'll have to go back to Mexico, and she says
that's fine, Olga finally gives birth.
So
apparently they also had an hour long live show where they talked to
various family members and friends about people. Here's whats
important. Jonathan's friends, the ones who had the dinner, seem to
blame everything on the fact that Fernanda is 19. Apparently the day
before this aired something happened between Colt and Larissa, which
involved the police so they won't talk about it. I will, though, it
seems to be a domestic violence charge against Larissa. Just a ton of
drama and a fight that got physical? And she tried to say Colt had
hit her and scratched her, but when the cops showed up they looked at
his hands and said he bites his nails so he couldn't have done it?
But he was clearly injured so she was arrested? So there's that.
Colt's mom claimed that Larissa is a great person and she wants
Larissa to be happy, but they go back and forth. Also “allegedly”
he's had many, many girlfriends. “Many” defined as “four”.
Mom and John and his wife don't think Colt has changed at all, but
they've never met any of his other girlfriends. Well, I guess Mom
did. John does not want to comment, because I am sure he has nothing
nice to say. Mom is also now claiming she and Colt each have separate
bank accounts, but they use the joint one for like groceries and
stuff. Uh huh. Mom also claims Larissa is so funny and they laugh all
the time. We haven't seen that at all. I mean the editing on this
show is crazy so it's possible they cut all of it out so we would
hate Larissa. John and his wife can't figure out what Larissa sees in
Colt. Eric's daughter Tasha claims that half of the mess was her
dad's, she didn't do it on purpose.
