Project Runway 9/12/13--"Let's Do Brunch" summary

Previously on Project Runway: it was time to design for Heidi’s activewear collection. Woo. Of course this involves making everyone do physical activity. Helen tried to ask Tim a question sneakily, only everyone saw her do it, and then Ken tried to ask her about it. So she told him, but with attitude, so he got bitchy and then Helen got bitchy and because no one would shut up, it ended with her calling him Sandro part 2 and him threatening her. Magically he felt bad and apologized and is now cheerful. Whatever. Helen then won the challenge, because her jacket was long? Had tails? Something. Then Karen was out, because clearly she is more boring than Ken. Also she made baggy sweats and that was against the secret requirements or something. (click for more)

Project Runway 9/5/13--"Having a Field Day" summary

Previously on Project Runway: the designers were forced to pick out shoes, none of which were that great, and make outfits to go with them. Some people (Kate, Dom) made horrible clothes but were safe. Both Alexander and Miranda made red plaid pants, but Alexander’s were nice enough to keep him safe. Helen made a simple black dress with a cape, so she won. Miranda’s pants were bad enough that she lost. That’s about all that happened. (click for more)

Project Runway 8/29/13--"Shoes First!" summary

Previously on Project Runway: everyone had to go outside and pretend to like it. Then they had to make “high fashion” looks inspired by the outdoors but not looks you can actually wear outside. Jeremy tried to manipulate the judges with a letter to his husband, although I did like his dress better than what actually won, which was Alexandria’s dropped crotch capri pants. Whatever. Justin tried to make plastic lace out of hot glue and put too much of it on his dress. He was eliminated but Tim used his save and saved him. I saw several comments on the emotional manipulation of this move, and that this was all set up because Justin is deaf and it’s heartwarming to save the nice deaf guy or whatever because deaf people can do anything. I hate to say that I wouldn’t put it past them. I mean, I thought for sure they would let Jeremy win when his husband’s grandmother died. So I’m sure this is part of their story. Everyone can save their anger for when someone good is eliminated and Tim can’t save them. (click for more)

Project Runway 8/22/13--"Let's Go Glamping!" summary

Previously on Project Runway: we basically repeated the second episode, only with different teams and a different sponsor and different unconventional materials. Jeremy won, because the judges were mean to him last time. His look was fine. Team Dysfunction (because there always is one) was Ken, Alexandria, and Sue. Ken was pissy from the beginning, and I found out there were two things I missed. One was that upon gathering around the cars, the girls asked Ken if he was going to chauffeur. Whether or not that’s a sexist thing or a racist thing, still not OK and it means Ken was not the only person contributing. Then in one of the stores Ken said he wanted a gun. Lovely. Alexandria looked like she was the nice one but on the runway threw everyone under the bus, earning a “don’t even look at me” from Ken. Sue can’t sew, and everyone knows it, but Ken went about telling everyone and being a total bitch about it, so when they sent Sue home they pretended like they would send Ken home too. Project Runway 8/15/13--"You Choose Your Materials!" summary

Previously on Project Runway: everyone had to make outfits for bowties and Bradon won, then proposed to his boyfriend. No one lost, because Sandro had a breakdown and walked off set. Now we are down two people who probably should not have been cast on a television show. Woo.

Project Runway 8/8/13--"Tie the Knot" summary

Previously on Project Runway: there was a product placement challenge combined with a team challenge combined with an unconventional materials challenge. Since the product placement part was supposed to be about getting words to inspire the looks, and we didn’t even find out what most of those words WERE, clearly that part was just to make some money. Helen was paired with Kate, and realized Kate is not a bitch. Also Helen won. Sandro was a jerk to everyone, because he’s a jerk. Timothy and Miranda were horrible and also mentally unstable, what with Timothy changing the design without telling Miranda and then her telling the sewing room what a terrible ass he was while he was in the room, and then apologizing and Timothy being a terrible ass and complaining about her on the runway. Not ready to be on TV. In the end, the judges sent Timothy and his unicorn home, which was unusual because I thought they were going to milk a couple more weeks out of him. (click for more).

Project Runway 8/1/13--"An Unconventional Coney Island" summary

Previously on Project Runway: the designers were shown a large amount of precious gemstones and told to design outfits to go with them. Essentially it’s a celebrity red carpet challenge without the celebrity. Kate won, and other designers started to talk about how she copies more famous designers. Once again, Timothy made something weird with remnants (although someone clearly informed him that he WOULD be using L’Oreal because they paid too much to be on this show, you ignorant hippie) but he survived. Helen had a breakdown during the runway show because her dress was terrible. Sandro made a very tight dress with SHEER SIDE PANELS but because he gets in fights and is not boring, the judges had to pretend to think it was modern and not super tacky. Kahindo’s dress was not very pretty, but since she is a nice person with no drama or craziness she was sent home. When Heidi said the bottom three had two dresses with poor construction, and one boring dress, you knew she was doomed. (click for more)
