Welcome to Leg 2! Last time, on Let’s Begin This Race Outside the US for Once, 12 teams started Amazing Race 34 in Munich, Germany. We are told that there are no NELs and that the first leg is a Scramble, in which tasks can be completed in any order. The Military Bros start strong, but have difficulty navigating. Big Brother finished first, but the engaged couple Aastha and Nina were eliminated. Who will be eliminated. . . next? (click for more)

We find out due to the new restrictions, teams have a staggered start at 15 minute intervals. (Toyouke: “Departing in groups?! Pfff”)
Clue: Drive to Innsbruck, Austria! Once there, make your way to Grünwalderhof to get your next clue.
First Departure 8:00 am
Derek/Claire (1st)
Glenda/Lumumba (2nd) – Glenda says she’s very competitive, and then they reveal they are expecting their first child.
Quinton/Mattie (3rd) – who get directions to Grünwalderhof in Munich, only to realize they need to go to Austria. Whoops. (Toyouke: “...didn't the clue say it was in Austria???”)
Second Departure 8:15 am
Linton/Sharik (4th) – Sharik has been watching TAR since she was 8. (Toyouke: “I mean you could just TAKE A VACATION to have this experience and then you wouldn't have to wear costumes and yodel.”)
Emily/Molly (5th)
Marcus/Michael (6th)
Tim/Rex (7th) – who want to get better at navigation.
Third Departure 8:30 am
Abby/Will (8th) – and we are again reminded they are high school sweethearts. Yes, thank you, I’d forgotten. And then they drive an hour out of their way, because they follow Croquetas.
Rich/Dom (9th)
Luis/Michelle (10th) – who also drive an hour out of their way. Michelle: “But there’s a team following us. . .where’d they go?” (Toyouke: “I feel like they shouldn't have this much trouble leaving the country. Right? There can't be that many possible routes to get to Innsbruck and then you'd have to get directions there because people in Munich don't necessarily know about Innsbruck.”)
Aubrey/David (11th)
So teams make their way to Grünwalderhof. Teams arrive in the following order:

When they rip open the clue, teams get the second roadblock.
ROADBLOCK:
Who wants to call in the cows?
In this roadblock, one team member must choose a yodeling coach and learn three yodeling songs with actions and perform them with a band. Once approved, teams can get their next clue.
Teams go get dressed in costumes that they must wear the rest of the leg and have the complete costume on at the Pit Stop; this is important later. (Toyouke: “Costumes are important though.”) The following teammates take the Roadblock:

Teams are now instructed to drive themselves to the city center of Innsbruck and find Marktplatz to get their next clue along the river. Teams arrive in the following order:

Teams open their clues and we get the first Detour Clue.
DETOUR:
Bells Ringin’ OR Partner Swingin’
*Bells Ringin’: Teams make their way on foot to Stiftskeller and choose a set of bells to use in order to play a traditional Austrian song using sheet music. Once performed correctly, teams get their next clue.
*Partner Swingin’: Teams make their way to Annasäule and pick an instructor to learn a traditional wedding dance. Once performed to the judge’s satisfaction, teams get their next clue.
1- Marcus/Michael choose Bells Ringin’ – (Toyouke: “You don't need to know how to pick up notes. They literally wrote the notes on the bells. You need to know the alphabet.”)
2- Glenda/Lumumba choose Partner Swingin’ – (Toyouke: “He's practically on his tiptoes to spin her.”)
3- Linton/Sharik choose Partner Swingin’
4- Abby/Will choose Partner Swingin’
5- Emily/Molly choose Partner Swingin’
6- Luis/Michelle choose Partner Swingin’
7- Derek/Claire choose Bells Ringin’

Teams are now instructed to race on foot to Hofburg Imperial Palace and make their way to the Great Hall, the PIT STOP of the second leg of this racearoundtheworld. The last team to arrive WILL be eliminated!
1- Marcus/Michael – who win Expedia Reqrd Points for a 5 day trip to Lima, Peru. (Toyouke: “Why didn't they win the actual trip? Why is the prize "reward points"?”)

9- Rich/Dom – who arrive at the Pit Stop without one of their hats in eighth place, and have to return to their car to retrieve it. (Toyouke: “OH another classic! Wait is this the rattlesnake noise I heard when people were parking? I couldn't be bothered to make a note about it.”)

11- Tim/Rex
And Tim and Rex are eliminated. Phil is oddly disappointed he doesn’t get to see more of their antics. Rex says he lost 50 pounds for the race, but he should have practiced music more.
