Welcome to Leg 3! Last time, on We Drove an Hour Out of Our Way Because No One Ever Does That on TAR, 11 teams drove themselves to Innsbruck, Austria. The Cheerleaders automatically decide they are looking for a location in Munich, which puts them far behind. Military Bros are high functioning once again and end up finishing first, while Time and Rex are eliminated. Who will be eliminated. . . next? (click for more)

Teams are whisked away to Munich Airport, and their charter flight to a new destination. (Toyouke: “They didn't even spring for a paint job on the jet?”) Once there, teams will be transported by Amazing Yellow Line to the Pit Start Location, the Sanctuary of the Madonna San Luca in Bologna, Italy, to begin a megaleg, with two Roadblocks, two Detours, two cities, and double the ways to make crazy racer mistakes.

So teams make their to the Arco del Meloncello. Teams arrive in the following order:

3- Luis/Michelle – Luis: “I have no clue how to reverse this.” (Toyouke: “The shifter literally says R on it.”)

Teams open their clues and we get the first Detour Clue.
DETOUR:
Head of the Class OR Big Cheese
*Head of the Class: Teams drive themselves to Piazza Franklin Delano Roosevelt, then make their way on foot to the Teatro Anatomico at the University of Bologna. Once there, teams must listen to an 8 minute anatomy lecture, then take a timed test in 90 seconds to identify different muscles, organs and bones. If complete in the time limit, teams receive their next clue.
*Big Cheese: Teams drive themselves to Piazza Franklin Delano Roosevelt, then make their way on foot to Formagerria Barbieri. Teams collect an 80 pound wheel of cheese and a cart. They then proceed to Ristorante Diana, have the cheese cut in half, and deliver half to the chef. Then teams take their cheese to another restaurant, Osteria del Cappello. Once delivered teams take their receipts back to the Formagerria and give them to the cheesemonger to get their next clue.
(Toyouke: “I like this Detour choice. One side is intelligence and one is strength.”)

2- Luis/Michelle choose Big Cheese
3- Linton/Sharik choose Head of the Class – (Toyouke: “So you have to listen to the whole lecture? Is that the drawback here?”)
4- Abby/Will choose Head of the Class
5- Derek/Claire choose Big Cheese
6- Aubrey/David choose Head of the Class
7- Quinton/Mattie choose Head of the Class
8- Emily/Molly choose Head of the Class
9- Glenda/Lumumba choose Head of the Class – after having difficulty realizing that they run to the detour choices after moving their car. (Toyouke: “I feel like running instead of driving is already its own penalty?”)
10- Rich/Dom choose Head of the Class – and really struggled with stick shift to get their far.
Much test taking and cheese delivering ensues. So, teams complete the detour in the following order:
1- Marcus/Michael
2- Luis/Michelle – (Toyouke: “I can't tell if Luis and Michelle are annoying because they are annoying or because they're faking enthusiasm for the cameras.”)
3- Derek/Claire

Teams are now instructed to drive themselves to the Ducati Factory for their next clue. Teams arrive in the following order:
1- Marcus/Michael
2- Derek/Claire
3- Quinton/Mattie
4- Luis/Michelle
5- Abby/Will
6- Aubrey/David
7- Linton/Sharik
8- Emily/Molly
9- Glenda/Lumumba
10- Rich/Dom
When they rip open the clue, teams get the third roadblock.
ROADBLOCK:
Who’s ready for a brake?
In this roadblock, one team member choose a Ducate Panigale V4, reinstall the wheels and brake system, and once approved, place the body panels on the motorcycle. Once approved, teams can get their next clue.
The following teammates take the Roadblock:

2- Claire – who takes it since she screwed up at yodeling. (Toyouke: “I think don't let her do any more Roadblocks? She isn't great at them?”)

After much building, teams complete the Roadblock in the following order:

Teams are now instructed to drive themselves to Florence, Italy and find Villa Bardini to get their next clue to the roadblock.
