Previously
on “90 Day Fiance”: Colt and Larissa looked at one bedroom
apartments, then broke the news to Colt's mom that she wouldn't be
coming with them. It seems like she understood but wasn't happy about
it. Jay apologized to Ashley, because as he has said, she'll never
admit she's wrong so he has to do it. They then discovered that
racist assholes have discovered their wedding website and have left a
hundred comments with every slur imaginable and also threats of
violence. Fernanda tried on wedding dresses, and Jonathan's mom came
and made several snide comments, and then pretended to be
sympathetic. Steven decided that Olga was paying too much attention
to their two week old son so he lectured her on how she doesn't
appreciate all the shit he does for her and how he should be the most
important person. Olga sadly did not leave him stranded in Russia,
but instead demanded to know why she had to do all the work in the
relationship, and then got upset. Steven claimed to not want to make
her cry, but completely failed to apologize or do anything other than
continue to demand attention, because he's an asshole. Leida hated
the hotel meeting room Eric got for the wedding, so she demanded
extravagant flowers (which she got) and then also expensive furniture
(which she did not get). Eventually she bitched about the child
support, and threatened to break it off because in her opinion the
child support prevents Eric from providing for her properly. Kalani
went wedding dress shopping and was a giant drama queen about how she
doesn't know if she wants to get married, because she won't act like
an adult and have a conversation with Asuelu, as an equal, about her
concerns. Kolini arrived and that was another whole stupid drama
event because of course it is. She tried to get him to admit he's
just with Kalani for her money, which is not the case, but he also
tried to say Americans don't support their spouses' families, or
something. Turns out that's because Asuelu's brother said some sexist
shit on a phone call so clearly she's not supporting him. It's fair
but she said it in the most condescending, lecturing mom tone
possible. Asuelu's response was to say he wants to go home and walk
out of the restaurant, which in the sisters' eyes is clearly worse
than going shopping for a wedding dress you repeatedly claim to not
want. (click for more)
We
start back with Eric and Leida. Eric claims that he has already
explained to Leida that they are going to pick and choose bills
sometimes. I mean, yeah, replace the twin bed, but do you need to
replace it with a $7,000 bed set? No. But unless Leida is going to
supply some money then suck it up. Eric feels horrible but he is also
determined not to bail on his kids. Leida cries that it's hard
because she has to accept the child support and Tasha living with
them, two things that I think she was aware of, and she doesn't want
to be unhappy. She rants that she doesn't want to feel like she's
“forcing” herself, and then she has to get married, and then she
regrets it. I mean the solution to that is to not get married. I
haven't seen her declare her love for Eric or anything that indicates
this is any kind of conflict. Eric asks what her problem is, and she
says “Your life is my fucking problem right now”. I really don't
see what incentive Eric has to cave and do anything she's asking? She
feels like she's forcing herself to get married because she doesn't
want to leave America, because she has a lot of opportunities to
pursue her medical career. And there it is. So Eric asks if this was
about the green card, or about him? There is too long of a pause, and
then Eric says “Did you love me or not?” and he says “did”
and not “do”. Leida starts to protest that she does love him
(present tense) but he demands an answer to the first question. Eric
asks for honesty, and she says this is it: she doesn't want to get
married right now. Yeah, I'd say this is honesty. She doesn't want to
get married because “you're going to make new family here but
you're going to pay other stuff to another person.” His existing
children don't magically disappear when he gets remarried. So she's
saying he's putting them as a priority, not her. Leida is now
claiming she did the math and child support is like $1000 per month.
I don't know if that's a lot or not, but kids are expensive and also,
when did you do this calculation? After you got here? Also another
$1000 is not going to get you that $7000 bed set. Now she's second
level. Listen, you knew he paid child support before you got here,
and if all you're here for is to be in America and be a doctor and be
rich, you should have found someone without kids.
This
argument has already gone on too long and it's been like five
minutes. Leida feels that her not being happy is legitimate, and now
she's doing that thing where the other person yells because she's
being ridiculous, and then she gets calm and asks why he's yelling.
As if she didn't throw a legit tantrum in the furniture store and she
wasn't just yelling at Eric 30 seconds ago. He says because she's not
listening to reason. Does she want him to give up parental rights? Or
just give her $1000 a month? She says both. I know I said this last
episode, but I cannot fathom a divorced person, with a kid, who will
enter a marriage and tell their spouse with a straight face that
their own children from their first marriage don't matter at all and
should be abandoned. At this point, if I were Eric, I'd just tell her
it's not going to happen and I'll help her pack. He's the one with
the power here, you know? She says both because she deserves it.
Nope. Eric says she doesn't deserve him giving up his child. So she
says don't get married. He's upset, but seriously? She's the one who
needs to be here. Eric says it's fucking wrong to ask him to give up
his parental rights. It's inhuman. Also he points out in confessional
about Alless and how much bullshit that is. Leida continues to say
she doesn't like it, as if that's a valid argument, and Eric says
then she's going home, because he's not giving up his child. Good for
you, Eric. Leida says fine, she doesn't want this anymore anyway.
Eric literally gets out of the car and says “This is over” and
starts taking off his mike. A producer asks him why, and he says this
is done. He's realizing she was just in it for the green card, which
she was stupid enough to actually say, and he's not putting anyone
before his kids. So this is over. His whole confessional is over
shots of Leida just sitting in the car.
38
days to go for Colt and Larissa. Larissa and Mom drive around while
Larissa interviews that she is excited to decide things about the
wedding and also move out of the house after the wedding. Larissa
declares that if Colt wants to marry her, they need to not live with
his mother. Fair. I know Larissa is annoying in many ways, but I
support her in this. Knowing your boyfriend lives with his mother,
and being OK with his mother living with the two of you forever, are
different things and not the same thing as Colt claims they are. They
talk about dresses in the car, and Larissa wants traditional but also
sexy. Colt apparently asked for this shopping trip because he is an
idiot and thought this would make them be friends. Larissa's opinion
is that Mom cannot allow other women to love Colt. I think Colt won't
allow other women to love Colt, is what I think is happening. Larissa
says her budget is $1000 or less. She also claims that when they
first met, Colt claimed she would be able to buy anything she wanted.
Clearly that is not actually the case. Mom doesn't know if she knows
Larissa well enough to help her shop, I guess. Colt's cousin's wife
Lea shows up. I think that's her? John's wife? Whatever, it doesn't
matter. Larissa invited her because it's another woman, and women
give support to each other, especially in America. Sure.
Larissa
wants a mermaid dress with a long train and sparkly details, and also
costs $100,000. Uh huh. Because “dream has no price”. She tells
the shop people sexy but kind of covered. And cropped? She says Colt
will want sexy and lots of cleavage, but wedding dresses should look
classic and not slutty. She also says she hopes Colt will like the
dress, although, I don't know that a groom has ever cared what the
dress looked like specifically? You know? Just that the bride felt
wonderful and also that she agrees to get married. I just went to a
wedding, and the dress was GORGEOUS, but I also know the groom would
have married his bride in a hockey jersey and that's an important
fact, I think. Right? Anyway, the first dress is perfectly lovely and
I think Larissa might cry. She says she feels like a pure angel, but
her future husband likes things sexy. I mean, the bodice is lots of
sheer and petals and looks like it's cut down to her navel, but she's
going to keep trying on stuff. Something more “nasty”. Sigh.
Larissa warns Mom it'll be sexy, but Mom also knows that this store
is probably out of the price range.
The
second dress has a tight skirt, and the top is all illusion netting
and paisley. So she looks naked from the waist up, with just
embroidery over her chest and off the shoulder. Larissa has a nice
body but honestly, her chest looked better in the other dress. Look,
some women look better with a bra. Don't wear a bra if you hate it
but that's a fact. Mom was right about the price, because it's twice
as much as the budget. Larissa says it's once in a lifetime, but we
all know she doesn't even like the dress. Now she's bitching about
Mom controlling the situation. You don't even like this dress as much
as the other one! No one is controlling this situation except for
your decision to please Colt, which, he should shut up about it.
Larissa wants to prove she can do whatever she wants, so Mom tries to
tell her that in America, the bride's family pays for the wedding.
Ha! The shop worker tries to say every family is different, and I
guess this is enough for Larissa to decide Mom is lying. It's
traditional, though. Mom then says she supposes Colt could use the
money he set aside for her green card to pay for the dress. Damn.
This forces Larissa to say her green card is more important. It is
$1000 for a green card. This is accurate according to the internet.
Mom argues that if she wants to wait another six months, she could
double her dress budget. Larissa thinks this is crazy, but also I
know you can get a decent dress for less than $2400. Larissa feels
Colt can do both, but Mom doesn't think he'll bend. In the store, she
says he'd rather see her in a sexy nightgown after the wedding, which
we all know is the truth. Apparently Colt will have the final say,
but Larissa thinks Mom is controlling everything.
37
days left for Fernanda and Jonathan. It's snowing in Chicago and I
think it's Fernanda's first time in the snow. She says Jonathan's mom
is being nicer to her, but she doesn't think Jonathan wants to fix
the relationship with his mom. I get that she has a great
relationship with her own mother, but that doesn't mean that everyone
has to, you know? Fernanda feels it's important to have family
support in relationships. Sure, and I'm sure it's a cultural thing
too, but not everyone needs to be super close to their family. They
go to a coffee shop where Jonathan starts worrying about how they
need to have a wedding planned in six weeks. Fernanda is just
concerned with how he doesn't get along with his mother. She thinks
he can do better with her. Are we sure it's that Jonathan is the
problem here? Fernanda is acting like Jonathan has closed his heart
to his mother, but from what we've seen, it's not like Mom is putting
any effort in either. Jonathan tells her it's a different
relationship. Fernanda tells him he needs to fix it. Jonathan says
they used to be close, but things change, he moved away and was
independent. He starts talking about forgetting the people who helped
you, or something. Look, if Jonathan wants to get closer to his mom,
then cool, but I don't want to support the idea that family trumps
all and it doesn't matter how the other person treats you, you MUST
forgive them and be super close because FAMILY. Fernanda says it's
important to her, because they need his mom, and she wants her kids
to be close to their grandmother. “Your house is here with your mom
and your brother and your sister.” I don't know about that.
Fernanda then reveals what is actually driving her, which is that her
own mother said that how your husband treats his mom is how he'll
treat you. OK I don't necessarily agree with that either, but if
that's the background she's coming at this from, then it makes more
sense why she's so obsessed with this. Fernanda insists his siblings
and his mom need him. I just...we haven't seen that anyone has a
problem with how the relationships are currently except for Fernanda.
He should tell his mom he loves her at least once a week and offer to
help her. OK but his mom seems like she'd either refuse to tell him
or demand ridiculous things. Jonathan finally starts crying and
admits he wishes he'd talk to his family more. I don't know, you
guys. I get that everyone has great intentions and everyone comes
from a place of love but I am just uneasy about this whole situation.
Fernanda insists that Jonathan talk to his mom and apologize and tell
her how much he loves her. Jonathan thinks maybe this will be a fresh
start.
15
days to go for Ashley and Jay. Jay installs security cameras in the
house. They feel threatened, and Jay says why wouldn't they show up
to the house? I would hope they didn't put their address on this
website, but I guess it's not that hard to find an address anyway.
Ashley reveals that people are dropping out of the wedding, because
they don't' feel safe. “There are just a lot
of...things...happening”. She wants to change everything. I can't
tell if there's more than the comments, that for some reason they
aren't going to tell us, or if it's a general comment on the state of
the country.
Ashley
and Jay drive to a winery to meet with Ashley's bridesmaids. They
have wine, and Jay asks what they got him, and the other one says he
can have her slushie. Then she laughs because she was dead serious.
What kind of nonsense is that? Anyway, these two girls have nothing
to say but how it's “miserable”. Ashley interviews that it's
nothing but drama: drama with Natalie, drama with the comments, drama
with people dropping out. People are allowed to decide that threats
are serious and they don't want to risk getting shot at your wedding.
Plus you know and I know that Ashley has far more “drama” than
she should. So the point is that they're canceling the wedding.
They're going to elope in Vegas. So now these women have bought TWO
dresses, for two weddings that are not happening. Ashley wanted a
huge wedding to celebrate her but maybe that's never going to happen.
On the one hand, it is a big risk when you've posted the exact
location and time. On the other hand, fuck those people. But I don't
know what I'd do either. Jay starts spouting that no one supports
Ashley, present company excepted of course. Jay doesn't feel
abandoned, because she's trying to be safe. Plus they are still going
to elope. We for some reason have to have several interviews from
everyone about how she's not running from this engagement, as if us
viewers are too stupid to see the difference between “everyone
cheats on me” and “racists threatened to shoot up my wedding.”
But the girls are keeping the bridesmaid dresses just in case they
renew their vows later or something. Ashley interviews that the
comments “forced” her to change her plans, which is not 100% true
but OK. But now she is also saying they're closer.
54
days left for Kalani and Asuelu. Kolini is going back home. We're
reminded of their fight yesterday, but they conveniently leave out
the part where Kalani said “my baby” and not “our baby”. She
demands Asuelu come say good-bye, which is dumb because we all know
Kolini doesn't like him, they won't stop talking about it. But he
comes upstairs to be civil. Kalani FINALLY decides now is the time to
talk to Asuelu about their issues like a damn adult. It's annoying
that she is only doing it to yell at/shame him for shutting down when
he gets upset. Like, she keeps harping on how he's not safe with the
baby, but I guess that's not important enough to talk to him
directly? Only when you feel embarrassed in front of your sister?
Sure. Anyway, she actually says she doesn't want to marry him, so
keep that in mind.
Kalani
asks how he thought brunch went, and I already am pissed at her tone.
You know when you get in trouble at school, and the school calls your
parents and then you get home and they're like “so how was school?”
but you can tell by their tone they know damn well how school was.
It's the same tone. Asuelu isn't dumb so he knows that it started
fine but ended annoying. “Well why do you think it ended like
that?” Just tell him whatever you've decided he needs to think,
jeez. Asuelu thinks it's a misunderstanding involving Kalani not
understanding what he's saying. Just like Steven's stupid ass, and
Ashley for that matter, Kalani pretends that they both need to
understand the other one. Except we all know she is blaming this all
on Asuelu. Asuelu doesn't want to talk when he's upset, he just wants
to think about what to do. Kalani says that since he's gotten here,
he's a different version of himself. Yes but the “real” version
of him is the one that did the dance in the airport that you
absolutely hated. He's not the person she knew, he doesn't talk to
her or try to fix problems. Asuelu says when she was in Samoa, he
tried to make her happy. But when he came here, now it's
uncomfortable because if he does anything wrong she's mad at him.
Kalani claims this is because she wants to talk about the issue, not
pretend it's not there. Surely there's a better way to do that,
though. She says the problem is that he doesn't ever want to talk
about whatever is wrong. Then she interviews that it's a maturity
issue, which is HER problem. Some people want to talk endlessly about
whatever is wrong, and some people need a fucking minute to think
about things. That's not immaturity, it's a difference in coping
styles and it doesn't mean one of you is wrong. It means you talk
about it like adults and try to compromise. Asuelu asks her not to
yell at him because he wants to be close to her. I guess because she
has been yelling at him to go away when they're fighting. Kalani says
when he tries to cuddle her and she's mad, that's what she means
here, because she feels like he's trying to avoid the issue. Asuelu
just wants to cuddle her because he's been cuddling his pillow, and
now he's here with her and his dreams came true. That's a little
manipulative. When she goes to bed mad, he is really upset because he
doesn't understand why. Because they should have had this
conversation ages ago. Kalani looks both touched and also she's
smiling because she sucks. She looks like a mom whose kid just gave
her a homemade Mother's Day card. She claims she knew Asuelu was a
physical person, but not that he was so physical that he felt she
didn't love him if she wouldn't cuddle with him. She does apologize,
but then she's all “I'm glad you finally told me you feel
uncomfortable, we need to talk, baby, we can't just not talk to each
other about problems.” 1. are you capable of speaking to your
future husband as an equal and not a small child, and 2. that is some
bullshit considering the hoops you have jumped through to avoid
telling him that you don't trust him with the baby. Asuelu agrees
they need to talk to each other, so she asks, “So can you please
talk to me? When you're feeling uncomfortable?” I wish I could put
a screenshot in. This relationship is never going to be healthy if
Kalani can't stop acting like Asuelu is a worthless child. You'll
notice that this whole argument was about Asuelu shutting down when
he's upset. Not a single fucking word about how she has said several
times she doesn't want to marry him because she thinks he's going to
hurt his own son. Now suddenly she's excited to marry him. Well, of
course, she got him to apologize and cry when she acted like a
disappointed mom.
Time
for Steven's stupid ass. He's whining that having a three-week-old is
harder than he thought it would be. And “things have been tense”,
although he leaves out the part where he caused all the tension by
being a child. We get a flashback about it, though. He says he's
going to talk to a lawyer today, because he has to leave in three
weeks. So he needs to sort out his son's citizenship and Olga's visa.
Olga interviews that they still have problems, but if the visa gets
approved then it will be easier to start their lives in America.
Steven
tells us that obviously his son Richie has Russian citizenship, being
born in Russia. But since Steven is American, and he seems convinced
that Richie will grow up in America, he needs his US citizenship too.
Steven of course has no idea what that entails, because I don't think
most people know what that entails. He gets to some government office
to deal with all of this paperwork. He asks Michael (who has no idea
what he is in for) what he needs to do. There is of course paperwork,
although he did initially just ask about his son, and not Olga's
visa. He gets an application, and then he's told that he has to go to
the embassy in Moscow. Steven thinks this will be easy, because
that's what the lawyer said. I think for an American citizen, who is
listed on the birth certificate, to get citizenship for his son,
probably isn't as difficult as getting the visa for Olga. Steven
finally asks about Olga, and he is told it's a political problem, and
that the embassy is not taking that many visa appointments. This is
where Steven reveals that it would break his heart to leave Russia
without his son, and he clearly has decided he'll take Richie away
from Olga if it comes to that. Because now not being with him every
day is a burden, as opposed to last episode when he told Olga that
the baby was not as important as he was. And his relationship with
Olga, technically. You can also tell he's an asshole because after he
hatches this plan, to go back to America with his son and leave Olga
in Russia until she gets a visa, he says he's not going to tell her
about it because he doesn't know how she'll react. You idiot,
EVERYONE WATCHING knows how she'll react, which is poorly because
you're only thinking of yourself again.
Steven
goes home and tells Olga he's got a list of all the things Richie
needs for his passport. Olga says they can do that, but maybe they'll
have time for sightseeing in Moscow? Steven responds that he doesn't
care about any tourist sightseeing or anything, because this is most
important to him. You asshole. How are you going to berate your
fiancee about how you are supposed to pay attention to each other,
and then turn around and say “my son's citizenship is the most
important thing”. Olga asks about her visa, and Steven just says
there are political things going on, and he reiterates the baby's
citizenship. He literally says “My son's citizenship is most
important to me. And then we'll figure out what's going on with your
visa as well.” The visa will take a long time. Olga admits that
she's worried Steven will think about how they've been fighting, and
she makes it sound like she thinks he'll fuck around with her visa
(or he already has) and ditch her. Yeah, I'd worry about that too.
Back
to Colt and Larissa. Colt tells us, contempt dripping from every
syllable, that it's ridiculous to spend $2000 on a dress you'll only
wear once. She was trying to please you with a slutty dress, for some
unfathomable reason. He wants a cheap-ass dress. There is tension
between Larissa and his entire family, so he thought he'd have a
barbecue to just hang out and have “a fresh start”. You idiot.
Also he invited John and his wife and kids, even though the last
meeting didn't go well. Because he thinks a barbecue will magically
make them a family and John will accept Larissa and no one will hate
each other. See, this is why your other girlfriends dumped you. As
Colt gets ready for the party, Larissa sulks on the couch. She thinks
John was mean to her, and also that Mom shittalks her to John because
she wants allies, so everyone will be against Larissa. But Larissa
says if John wants to argue with her then she'll defend herself. For
all that I don't agree with Larissa much of the time, that's fair.
I
for some reason enjoy that John is wearing the same clothes he was
last time. I mean I'm sure it's a uniform but that means he keeps
coming straight from work for these meetings? Now Larissa is mad
because she was going to say “hello” but John is ignoring her.
Full disclosure, this is how I deal with people I dislike but have to
deal with. But they're not my cousin's fiancee. Larissa thinks this
is rude, while I would take it as a blessing in disguise. John's wife
takes the kids inside so they can have “grown-up time”. Meaning,
she knows they're going to have a stupid fight. John tells us he
thinks this is a terrible relationship and they're not good for each
other. I'd like to know how John felt about Colt's previous
girlfriends. You know? Just out of curiosity. Now Larissa doesn't
appreciate Colt.
They
discuss about how Mom is maybe not going to live with them after the
wedding. John offers to let her live with them, and for some reason
Larissa decides to tell him that's a terrible idea. Girl he just gave
you a huge gift! Shut up and say thank you! Larissa laughs about how
after a week he'll regret it. John says she's a blessing and not a
burden. Listen, he clearly is trying to shame her, but he's offering
and Larissa doesn't want her around so I'd say call his bluff and do
it. Mom lives with family and not with you. Larissa can't read the
room and complains that she makes life hard, all the little things,
rearranging rooms, whatever. Lea says it's a sacrifice on both sides,
and maybe both Larissa and Mom need to let some things go. I know I
was harsh with Lea at first, because of the flower crowns, but
honestly she's the most level-headed one here. Larissa doesn't see
why she has to make it work, why she should make time. I thought you
just offered to let her live with you? For all of Larissa's
complaining, it is 1000% reasonable not to want to live with your
husband's mother. Lea does point out that Mom pays rent so she needs
respect. OK that's true. John interviews that since Mom has told him
she's hurting, that she needs to tell Colt this isn't going to work.
John is also offended that they're “willing to kick her out! On the
street!” which, he just said she could live with him, so she's not
on the street, is she? Everyone is being stupid about this, and Mom
even said before that she gets that she's going to have to step back
from her son's life. Colt says he just wants everyone to calm down,
and Larissa interrupts to say that's because his life isn't hard.
John asks him to elaborate, and Colt says that moving would solve the
tension between Larissa and Mom, but Mom is 66 and disabled. She's
not dead, though. Also Colt literally says “she's the only family I
have” IN FRONT OF HIS ACTUAL COUSIN. John starts telling stories
about how Mom is “true to the core”, whatever that means, and
then gets to his point of how they owe her respect. I don't think
asking her to move out is disrespectful, but Larissa of course ruins
it by telling John and Lea that Mom is not the saint they think she
is. There has to be a better way to argue that you want to start your
new life with just the two of you. Somehow this is about respecting
her as an elder. Larissa says she doesn't give respect for herself
(?). John's argument is that Colt and Larissa have each other, and
Mom has no one. But you just offered to take her in, so doesn't she
have you? Larissa doubles down and says that just because she's
Colt's mother, she's allowed to make her life hell? John says Colt
pays for everything because Larissa doesn't do shit, so how is her
life hell? Until she starts paying for things (I think that's what he
means), she won't understand the truth about Colt or his mom. Or
America. Lea says if they love Colt, they'll work it out.
John
then jumps on the ring, because it's huge, and she should feel like a
queen. But she “takes advantage.” Of what exactly? Larissa bursts
out laughing and asks what she's taking advantage of, because she
can't buy anything. John gets passive aggressive and says he doesn't
say half the shit he wants to because Colt is a sweetheart and he
loves him. Sure. Larissa points out that Colt doesn't even have a
fucking car with air conditioning, so what in the fuck is she taking
advantage of? Maybe his body. Heh. John puts his baby inside the
house and then says “You'd better fucking love him, I swear to
God.” Larissa laughs again and says she loves Colt and she wants to
respect his mother, but John has decided to be a dick and just waves
her off and says “We'll see”. If you're going to demand respect
for your aunt, then you have to at least pretend to be working with
Larissa here. Plus, quite frankly, having Mom move in with John and
Lea would make everyone happy, unless he was lying about that.
Larissa does want to respect Mom, but she “won't put [her] head
down to let someone control [her].” Is Mom controlling her? Or is
Mom blaming everything on Colt? As John and Larissa yell at each
other, Colt just sits there. Do you think you can avoid taking sides?
Because I don't think you can at this point. John turns to his wife
and says “That bitch is for his money, period.” Does Colt even
have money for her to be after? Because Larissa has a point about
that.
After
commercials we have to come back to this argument. Also I get that
Larissa is obnoxious, but you have to at least let her talk, instead
of waving your hand and yelling “We'll see” over her. Mom pops
her head out, because I'm sure she can hear them yelling. John says
that Colt deserves better, as Larissa says she is going to dream of a
big life, and have a millionaire. Colt is never going to have a
million dollars, come on. John goes into the house, and Mom yells at
him not to come in the house screaming. John declares he can't
pretend anymore, and starts spouting to his wife that love is about
doing for others or whatever. Is he claiming Larissa doesn't love
Colt because she doesn't want to live with his mother after they're
married? I guess so. Larissa interrupts to tell John he's not welcome
at her wedding. I do notice that they're now arguing inside the
house, which is what they were asked not to do. So much for respect.
No one who is against Larissa is allowed at the wedding. John says
she's delusional. Or she has a delusional sense of love? Delusional
and confusing? Larissa goes part way up the stairs and yells “Who
is against the Queen will die!” Yeah, that will convince them. Colt
has not said a single word, except to interview that he doesn't know
how to handle someone who is completely irrational and yells and
screams. Are you talking about Larissa or John? Because no matter
whose side you're taking, I think we can all agree there are two
people yelling and screaming right now. You will not be shocked to
learn that John doesn't want to go to the wedding anyway. Lea wishes
they all got along, while John insists that Larissa doesn't love
Colt, love is about working together and growing, etc. He makes sure
to tell Mom he loves her, and her response is “I love you too, go
home” so I think she's not super pleased with him either. Plus Colt
is still marrying her so are you not going to be mad at Colt for
anything?
Leida
for some reason is still at Eric's house, but it sounds like she
slept on the couch. They go for a walk to talk about all their
issues, or probably not their issues. Eric's daughter is actually
there, the one who is still underage, so she's going to watch Alless.
Leida claims she just wants Eric to not pay child support because
it's more than she gets from him. He knows she's not happy about the
child support, and he gets that she might not be, but she's demanding
he become a deadbeat dad and that's not happening. Leida brings up
how much it is, but they bleep it. I'm sure it's significant. Leida
says she's not happy, because that's what she always says to get her
way. Eric doesn't fall for it, although he's at least admitting she
might not ever be happy and he understands and accepts that. Leida
says “So you would rather get married with me and make me unhappy
about it? Wow.” Eric tells her that they're going to work hard and
maybe she won't be unhappy forever. I mean, at the moment, I still
haven't seen anything from her about how she'd like to stay in this
relationship. Or what exactly she brings to it that Eric would have
any reason to do this for her. Leida continues to complain about the
things she has to accept, other than child support. I guess like
Tasha. Eric accuses Leida of being nervous because he's the only
income right now. But he promises he can provide, and they'll work
hard and have a future. I think they need to address the idea Leida
has of what “provide” means, because she thinks if life is not up
to her high standard of living, then no one is providing for her,
even though she has food and shelter. But she thinks that she's not a
priority because priority has to be at the top, and that means not
being equal with his daughter, and not being told she can't have
something because there isn't money. Eric says that she is number
one, but he's not giving up parental rights. Leida is like, prove it,
and now she's sulking, but I'm not sure if she thinks this will work
and he'll change his mind, or if at some point she's realized that he
could refuse to marry her and send her home. Leida interviews that
her family warned her that she was marrying someone with baggage, and
she'll always be second to his kids. I mean if your whole point was
just to get a green card so you can go to med school, then why didn't
you pick someone without kids? You were warned. This isn't like
Colt's mom, because “stop paying child support” is not the same
level as “I don't want to live with your mom”. Eric's plan is to
buy a house, and Leida says she's counting on him. He asks if she
doesn't trust him, and she claims she does, but then asks if he
trusts she's not here just for a green card. You literally said that
during the fight. Plus, why don't you prove it? Eric says he believes
her about that, but come on, dude. She keeps threatening to go home
where it's “easy” because she thinks you won't call her bluff.
Leida demands that Eric prove to her that he wants to keep her. All
of a sudden, out of nowhere, Leida interviews that she's still pissed
about the money, but she gets why he needs to pay child support. And
that she gets that Eric loves his daughter, but he needs to make her
the top priority. I don't think you get anything, but that's Eric's
problem. Also he needs to kick Tasha out of the apartment. Was there
a big part of this conversation that they cut? Because this seems too
abrupt.
Steven
and Olga head for Moscow, because Steven doesn't care about Olga's
visa as much as he cares about his son's citizenship. You'll note
that Olga just has the baby on her lap and not in the car seat, while
they're in the cab. This time they're flying and not taking a train.
Olga knows they're there to go to the embassy, but Olga is also
thrilled to see her friend Anna, and she starts crying when she sees
her. Steven admits in the dual confessional that he's a little
nervous to meet Anna because he knows she's “worried” about him.
That was a surprising amount of self-awareness. Olga makes a great
face at this sentence, because you know exactly why Anna is worried
about him. It's because Olga told her all about Steven's stupid ass.
Anna says they're best friends, and Olga is like part of the family.
They
all sit on the grass, and Anna says she's been waiting to meet
Steven. Anna was Olga's support during her pregnancy (although it
sounds like maybe that was done long-distance) and so for her the
most important thing is to know Olga is OK. Steven insists that she
can ask whatever she wants, so Anna gets right to it and asks about
the “tensions”. Steven tells her they argued and he walked out of
the house. I thought he was going to leave out the part where he
started it, but no, he's still so convinced he was right that he has
no problem telling Anna all about how he was doing everything around
the house and Olga wouldn't thank him ever. Olga rolls her eyes and
accuses him of just complaining all the time. Steven doesn't think
this is complaining, because he's just telling her what happened. So
do they have fewer arguments now...? No one will answer. Anna
interviews that she is sure they're still arguing, and she wants
Steven to understand he needs to be a man and a responsible father,
and dependable. Providing your child with citizenship is not all it
takes. Then Anna asks if there were no baby, would he even be with
Olga? Steven tries to deflect by saying they didn't expect a baby,
and that's true, but is he here for the child? Or for Olga? Steven
doesn't know what would happen if they didn't have a baby. Well
that's telling. Olga interviews that every couple has fights, but
Steven seems unhappy in the relationship. In addition to the part
where he couldn't even manage to pretend he might love Olga. Anna
says she worries about Olga and Steven needs to take care of her, and
Steven responds that he understands and that he does respect that
Anna said those things. But Olga knows that Steven loves his son more
than her. Anna leaves, and Steven promises he'll take good care of
Olga. Uh huh.
Colt
was surprised by John's reaction, because he hasn't been paying
attention this whole time. Or maybe he just thought no one was going
to yell? Also he claims he didn't do anything but sit there because
everyone was crazy, and one more crazy person wasn't a good idea. You
can still participate and not be passive without being “crazy”.
Larissa comes downstairs and tells Colt that his mother “poisoned”
them and she told him it would happen. All of Colt's family is
against her, and now Larissa is claiming she wanted to have allies in
John and Lea but no longer. Colt tells her that it doesn't matter
what Mom does, Larissa “comes off as” rude. There is no way John
showed up to that house intending to try to get along with Larissa.
Just like I think Larissa was waiting for someone to say something so
she could argue too. They talk over each other for a minute, and then
Colt says that she should have been nice, but she's not because she
thinks their mind is already made up. OK but we all saw that John
wouldn't say hi to her and that's on tape. She's not giving them a
reason not to hate her. Larissa doesn't think that Colt is supporting
her. She tells him if she wanted money she'd marry a sugar daddy.
True. Colt tries to explain that John just has these ideas that a hot
Brazilian girl would only want him for money and a green card. It's
their “responsibility” to show John that's not true. Larissa
doesn't want to have to fake emotions so they're comfortable. Then
she reiterates that no one is allowed at her wedding if they're
against her. Then Larissa decides to yell at Mom, saying she knows
that Mom says a lot of shit about her, but she doesn't care. But Mom
doesn't even talk to John. That's entirely possible? Larissa blames
her for enough, don't blame her for John. Colt thinks the problem
here is that they both think the worst about the other one. Larissa
flies off the handle, and she asks what she's doing wrong. Colt tells
her to look in a mirror. Meanwhile Mom is putting something away, and
she closes the pantry door or whatever, so Larissa tells her not to
slam doors. No one slammed any doors, honestly. You'll know when
someone slams a door. Both Colt and Mom tell Larissa that no one
slammed a door, and then Mom is like “I'll show you slamming a
door” and she slams it. Yeah, you deserved that. Mom says she's
done, and then Larissa is like “put your hands on me and I'll call
the police” even though no one was doing anything near that.
Mom
goes upstairs and Colt tells Larissa she's not the victim and she
needs to calm down. She can't talk to people like that. Colt tells
her she's not perfect, no one is, and she thinks everyone is always
against her. Everyone has problems, but she takes offense at
everything. I think she was justified to take offense at the stuff
John was saying but sure. Colt continues about how she threatens them
with American laws but she can't even drive a car. What was that dig
for? Larissa says OK, then take your fucking ring and marry a woman
that your mom likes, and fuck you. Colt says his mother doesn't
matter, which is rich. Larissa claims to be the victim of his mother,
and everyone else, and Colt is saying she's wrong. Now Colt is hurt,
and he says it's because he put a lot of effort into proposing and
giving her the ring. You're not hurt that she said “fuck you”?
You're not hurt that everyone hates her and she hates everyone?
You're hurt because of the effort? Now he might not want to
marry her. He picks the ring up off the floor but doesn't go
upstairs. I think the problem here is Colt thinks he doesn't have to
take sides here, but there's no way Larissa will allow him to stay
neutral.
Leida
tells us that she's going to “let” Eric pay child support,
because she understands that's how it works in America, and also she
really likes Eric's daughter and she's glad Alless will have someone
to spend time with. So I guess Leida figured out that Eric would
refuse to marry her unless she got over this, and that she'd have to
go home, so now she's trying to pretend that she's totally fine with
this idea. But she's still fighting with Tasha. Leida complains that
she's dirty, and lazy, and she's not trying to find a place, and it's
too crowded for four people in a two bedroom apartment, and if she's
really a priority to Eric he needs to prove it by kicking Tasha out.
Tasha
comes home, and Leida immediately asks what she's doing in her room.
To me it looked like someone who was half-packed. Tasha responds by
asking what Leida is doing in her room, and Leida tries to claim she
just popped in? I'm not sure. The door was all the way closed and
really, I'd be more concerned about dishes and stuff than whatever
you can close the door on. Tasha doesn't see the problem, and Leida
says if she has time to hang out with her boyfriend, she could clean
up her mess. I honestly think Leida is about to cry over this. You
can hear the hitch in her voice. It's unacceptable, because Leida has
problems with mess, and Tasha keeps doing it. Are we saying that
Leida is a germophobe or something? Tasha says well, she has a
problem with invasion of privacy and that's illegal. Is it illegal? I
mean, there was no reason for Leida to open the door and look at
Tasha's room, but illegal? Tasha says it's her house and her room, so
Leida responds that it no longer matters because she wants Tasha to
move out now. Tasha gets sarcastic and says that's cute, but she
doesn't care. Leida tries to pull Eric into this, while he's at work
and can't contradict her, and says she told him that Tasha needs to
move out. But since Eric and Tasha are the ones on the lease, it's
between the two of them. Leida yells that she's the boss right now.
Nope, she's not Tasha's mom, and she doesn't have to roll over every
time Leida is upset. Leida is losing (because Tasha won't fall for
her “I'm not happy” line) so she says that Eric doesn't want
Tasha here either. Tasha doesn't believe it, and says that it's only
because he doesn't want to argue with Leida. Leida came here and
“destroyed everything.” Tasha says “make me leave”.
Leida
claims that she has proof that Eric wants Tasha to move out, so she
goes to get her phone. Tasha follows her and says it's only because
of Leida. Eric can't show any support for Tasha because Leida
threatens to leave him. Tasha's side of the story is that Eric told
her that it can't look like he's defending Tasha because Leida freaks
out. “So if you're going to threaten to leave him then get the fuck
out of my country.” So that feels a little racist but also exactly
what I was saying earlier. Leida is trying to read texts from Eric,
but they're texts like “I'll get on her” and “I told her the
room needs to be empty”. So from Leida's perspective, Eric doesn't
defend Tasha and is on Leida's side, but Tasha's argument is that he
is faking that. So Leida calls Eric to make him back her up, I guess.
She leads with how Tasha doesn't want to move out so “I guess I'm
going out, then”. Dramatic. Eric claims he never said he doesn't
want Tasha to move out, except that Tasha was saying Eric couldn't
defend her. Eric says he's not defending Tasha, and he's not going
to. I guess she's spending all her time at her boyfriend's, so Eric
says she doesn't even stay there, and get your shit and get out. Is
that how he really feels? Or is it because he knows he's on speaker
and Leida is right there? Guess we'll never know.
After
a commercial, which is also suitably dramatic, Leida says Tasha is
refusing to leave, so I guess they'll move back to Indonesia. See,
this is the kind of shit that Tasha is calling her on and she should,
because really. Eric says don't do anything until he gets home, and
Tasha adds on that Leida should leave because she doesn't deserve
Eric anyway. Eric tells Tasha again to leave. Leida is now crying
again, and asks if that's how his daughter always treats him, and if
this was Indonesia do you know what would happen? She never finishes
that so I'm guessing nothing. Eric claims he didn't raise Tasha to do
this, to not be selfish. Now Leida thinks that Alless will grow up
like Tasha. Sure. Tasha says that Leida has promised not to touch her
stuff or look at her room. Eric wants Leida to stay calm, but he
already just kicked Tasha out, and that's what the fight was about,
right? So why is he still acting like Leida is going to leave? Tasha
comes into the living room with two bags and says this is only
temporary, she's done with Leida's dramatics. They have a dumb final
fight about dirt. I don't know. Tasha is still pissed, because she
feels like Eric can't show her affection because of Leida. It's all
bullshit. Leida doesn't care if she's the evil stepmother, because
this will get her a better life for Alless. Then she starts ranting
about how no one wants to live in a dirty place unless they're
mentally unstable. Calm down, it's a messy teenager's room.
Tasha
left a bunch of shit in the room, so Leida is putting stuff in boxes.
But Tasha comes back, I guess because she wasn't done removing her
stuff. Obviously she can't take everything in the first trip, but now
she's livid because when she got back to the apartment, Leida was in
there doing whatever. Now she can vacuum. Tasha says she hopes Leida
is fucking happy, Eric could do better than her, obviously he didn't
learn anything after his last bad relationship. Leida claims Eric is
all over her, and she told him to call off the wedding. Yes, you did,
and then Eric said he was going to keep paying child support, and
suddenly you're fine with it, so who won exactly? Leida and Tasha
call each other cunts and Tasha leaves again. She says that her dad
doesn't want her around, so then she must not exist to him and she's
not going to their wedding. She's sniffling a bit, because she feels
like Eric disowned her because of Leida. Eric doesn't have to choose,
but she's his daughter.
Ashley
and Jay have 4 days to get married. They're packing for Vegas. Ashley
says they've had to tackle a lot of issues. Like Natalie, and
racists. Jay never dreamt of getting married, so this is odd for him.
They're wearing their wedding outfits, so as not to waste them. But
Jay's ready to get married. He puts on his jacket and struts a little
bit. They talk about packing (I think Ashley is massively overpacked)
and then someone starts ringing the doorbell a bunch and banging on
the door. And hollering. They don't show either of them looking at
the damn cameras they set up, they just show Ashley flinging the door
open to reveal Natalie. I really hope they looked first and then just
cut that part out, otherwise what was the point of putting the
cameras in?
Next
time: Larissa complains that Colt doesn't compliment her enough,
Leida and Eric's ex fight, Kalani freaks out again about whatever,
Steven is still planning to take his son from Olga, Natalie did not
take the gift of being free from Ashley's drama, Jonathan fucked up
again somehow.
