Welcome to Leg 2! Last time, on Row Row Row Your Boat To Get Yourselves Some Fish, teams raced from Los Angeles to Iquique Chile. We find out the winning team of the leg gets two Express Passes, one to use and one to give away. Tim and Marie win the leg after Nicole and Travis pulled a Heave and were penalized. (Auburnium0513: “You know, this just occurred to me, shouldn't the ER doctors be super careful about what they read since if you mis-read a chart, you could kill a patient?”) Naina and Hoskote were eliminated for being slow. Who will be eliminated. . . next? (click for more)

Project Runway 10/3/13--"Butterfly Effect" summary
Previously on Project Runway: the “make your own
print” challenge happened, supposedly inspired by various people who do good
things. The inspiration was a little fuzzy, but that’s what always happens with
these things. Dom won, finally, which was nice. Randomly Heidi/whoever decided
they would have a double elimination, so both Kate and Alexander were sent
home. Kate declared that they had done it just to get rid of her. On the one
hand, they had the “Tim’s Save” thing so of course they would need a double
elimination at some point to get back on track. On the other hand, the
producers would totally make up something like that to get rid of a designer
they were tired of. On the third hand, Kate’s dress was pretty fugly so she
might still have gone home. She and Helen spent all of the episode
live-tweeting about what a bitch Alexandria was and how she sucked so much and
should have gone home. Then Helen took offense to people saying the fabrics
were ugly and suddenly everyone was a horrible person because the designers
work so hard and it’s so terrible to say anything bad about their work. Yeah! I
know! (click for more)

Top Chef 10/2/13--"Soiree in the Swamp" summary
Previously on “Top Chef”: there was actually a
decent season, culminating in Kristen becoming the second female Top Chef which
is pretty cool. I liked the “Iron Chef”-style finale, but apparently no one
else did so that won’t be happening again. Also there’s some competition
online? “Padma’s Picks”? I guess some people were competing for the last spot
on the show and Padma got to pick. I haven’t watched any of them, because I
tried to watch the first one and I made it about 3 minutes in before I got
bored. Did anyone watch them? Were they worth it? (click for more)

TAR23, Recap Leg 1, 9/29/13
Welcome to Leg 1! We’re back to TAR after a hiatus, and it
couldn’t come soon enough. This time, we
are traveling through Los Angeles. For goodness sake, I know that LAX is a hub,
but can we PLEASE start in a different city?
We only get to see the United
States twice a season, since we (thankfully)
do not do Family Edition anymore. This
time, teams are being driven by stagecoach to the Melody Ranch Motion Picture
Studio. (Toyouke:
“Is it sad that even
though this season is full of famewhores and I already hate this opening after
10 seconds, I'm still excited about this show?”) The eleven teams are: (click for more)

Project Runway 9/26/13--"Next Generation..." summary
Previously on Project Runway: it was the “real
woman” challenge, and for the second year running no one was an asshole about
it. I know! But we couldn’t celebrate that because Ken and Alexander are jerks.
Mostly Ken, but Alexander started something he didn’t want to finish and then
pled fear for his safety. Ken should never have been cast on this show. So once
he started screaming at the production assistants the end was in sight and he
was quickly eliminated. Ken claimed on Twitter he threw the challenge, which I
guess maybe he could have because he made sure to listen to his client and buy
the “ugly” fabric she wanted. I don’t think it was that ugly, but whatever.
Even if you threw the challenge, does it have to be done when random super fans
are having the experience of a lifetime? Can’t you make an ugly dress some
other time? Anyway, Ken is finally gone and Helen won because she got the
skinny nerd girl. Is this show over yet? (click for more)

TAR23, Recap Leg 0, 9/23/13
Welcome back to the Emmy Award
Winning Amazing Race! Wait, we lost this
year? Oh well, I’m sure we lost to a
fantastic show. What, we lost to The
Voice? Well, THAT will have to be fixed. Miss me?
I thought so. First off, we have
some excellent countries on the list, including visits to Chile, Norway
and the United Arab Emirates! We’re at eleven teams, so no monkey business
from the producers. Also, no twists that
I have heard through the grapevine. And
Toyouke is nearby to throw in her two cents. (Toyouke: “It's in whatever order I feel like. . . because I don’t care
about half these teams.”) The eleven
teams are:

Project Runway 9/19/13--"Project Runway SuperFan!" summary
Previously on Project Runway: the designers were
told to make clothes for “the modern Southern woman.” No one knew what that
meant. Apparently to the producers it means plaid. Bradon won, and I’m not sure
how they are going to sell that plaid complicated dress in a department store
but whatever. Ken’s head exploded because he is from the South and he is
convinced that no one he’s ever seen at home would wear anything the top three
made. The bottom three were told to go back and make something new in an hour.
Dom remade her dress entirely and they told her she would also have her dress
sold in stores, which is not really fair to Bradon. Although it was a cute
dress. Ken’s dress was shiny and tacky but since he’s great drama Jeremy was
sent home instead. (click for more)
