Welcome to Leg 11! Last time, on The Amazing Race Flower Dress Decorating Adventure, 5 teams raced from Greece to Milan, Italy. Kyland and Taylor ended up on a flight by themselves, an hour behind the other teams. However, Adam got overheated (Toyouke: “Yeah, THE HEAT took its toll on Adam. Not his diabetes.”) and Jack and Chelsie got lost (again) so they were able to surge ahead. Jas and Jag finished first for the third leg in a row, and Jack and Chelsie were eliminated. Who will be eliminated. . . next? (click for more)
Arrival at the pit stop last episode:
1st – Jas and Jag, Team Turbanators
2nd – Izzy and Paige, Team EnGayged
3rd – Joseph and Adam, Team Law Bros
4th – Kyland and Taylor, Team Influencer
Villa Borri Manzoli, Corbetta, Italy
Jas/Jag (1st)
Clue: Fly to Paris, France! Once there, take a taxi to the Moulin Rouge to get your next clue.
Izzy/Paige (2nd)
Joseph/Adam (3rd)
Kyland/Taylor (4th) – and we learn Taylor’s mom is a French teacher. (Toyouke: “I'm sure knowing French is helpful but I'm going to guess that plenty of places/people in Paris will have English.”)
At the Pit Stop, teams use the Expedia App to bundle their Milan Hotel and their flight to Paris. Teams now make their way to Milan Malpensa International Airport. Teams arrive in the following order:
1- Jas/Jag
2- Izzy/Paige
3- Joseph/Adam
4- Kyland/Taylor
Teams all get on the same flight. So, the Amazing Yellow Line takes us to Charles de Gaulle Airport, where teams arrive and find taxis in the following order:
1- Kyland/Taylor – who purchased a guidebook in the airport. (Toyouke: “A guidebook is a pretty good purchase.”)
2- Izzy/Paige – who just want everyone in their lives to be safe.
3- Jas/Jag
4- Joseph/Adam
Teams make their way to the Moulin Rouge and arrive in the following order:
1- Joseph/Adam
2- Jas/Jag
3- Izzy/Paige
4- Kyland/Taylor
Teams are now asked, “Can you Can-Can?”. In this task, team must choose a dance instructor and learn a Moulin Rouge style dance routine. Once approved by the judges, teams will get their next clue. (Toyouke: “Interesting. They don't all have to wear dresses? Bah.”) Teams complete the challenge in the following order:
1-
Jas/Jag
2-
Kyland/Taylor
3- Izzy/Paige – Paige:
"This is what this leg
is supposed to feel like." (Toyouke: “Somehow this is weirdly
such a supportive comment.”)
4- Joseph/Adam
(Toyouke: “OK the judges were presented in such a way that I feel like they are famous. Right?”) Teams are now instructed to take a taxi to Notre Dame Cathedral and search the grounds for their next clue. Teams arrive and find the clue box in the following order:
1-
Jas/Jag
2-
Kyland/Taylor
3- Izzy/Paige
4- Joseph/Adam
Teams are now instructed to take a taxi to the Institut National des Jeunes Avengles to get their next clue. Teams arrive in the following order:
1-
Jas/Jag
2-
Kyland/Taylor
3- Joseph/Adam
4- Izzy/Paige
When teams open their clue, teams come to the thirteenth roadblock.
ROADBLOCK:
Who
thinks they know their type?
In
this roadblock, one team member must learn how to operate a Pekins
Brailler typewriter in order to recreate the poem from the Statue of
Liberty in Braille. Once approved by the instructor, teams get their
next clue.
(Toyouke: “The judges leaving to get coffee is hilarious.”) The following team members complete the Roadblock.
1-
Jas
2- Taylor
3- Joseph – who
mentions that his mother is blind. (Toyouke: “I
do not care about if your family members are blind. That doesn't mean
you automatically learn Braille.”)
4- Izzy
After much typing in Braile, teams complete the Roadblock in the following order:
1-
Jas/Jag
2-
Kyland/Taylor
3- Joseph/Adam
4- Izzy/Paige
Teams rip open their clue and find their next task, the Scramble.
SCRAMBLE:
In this Scramble, teams must visit three locations where they can find models of the Statue of Liberty around Paris and collect three parts of a clue.
*Red Piece: Teams take a taxi to Jardin du Luxembourg and find the Parisian local standing near the statue to get their next clue. This location is the closest to the Roadblock.
*White Piece: Teams take a taxi to Musée des Arts et Métiers and find the docent standing next to the original model for the Statue of Liberty.
*Blue Piece: Teams take a taxi to the Pont de Grenelle on the Ile aux Cygnes and find the painter to get their clue. This location is closest to the Pit Stop.
Once teams have all three parts to the clue, they may travel to their Pit Stop, as presented on the clue.
Because it is hard to keep track of who goes where in what order, I’m going to tackle the Scramble task by task. I’ll also list which task this is for each team in parentheses when they arrive.
RED PIECE
Teams travel to the Jardin du Luxembourg and get their clues in the following order:
1- Jas/Jag (2)
2- Kyland/Taylor (1)
3- Joseph/Adam (1) – Joseph: "Who could it be?" (Toyouke: “How about the most stereotypical "French" person in this whole park?”)
4- Izzy/Paige (1)
WHITE PIECE
Teams travel to Musée des Arts et Métiers and get their clues in the following order:
1- Jas/Jag (3)
2- Kyland/Taylor (2)
3- Joseph/Adam (2)
4- Izzy/Paige (3)
BLUE PIECE
Teams travel to Pont de Grenelle and arrive in the following order:
1- Jas/Jag (1)
2- Izzy/Paige (2)
3- Kyland/Taylor (3)
4- Joseph/Adam (3)
(Toyouke: “I think maybe the Scramble should always be this late in the leg. Right? This is super dramatic, we know the Pit Stop is near one of the spots, people are much more equal than they would otherwise be.”) Teams are now able to assemble their clue, which is a model of the Pit Stop, La Place du Trocadéro. Teams finish the scramble and get their clue in the following order:
1- Jas/Jag
2- Kyland/Taylor
3- Joseph/Adam
4- Izzy/Paige
Teams are now instructed to take a taxi to La Place du Trocadéro, the PIT STOP of the eleventh leg of this racearoundtheworld. The last team to arrive MAY be eliminated!
1- Jas/Jag – who win 1 Key Cash Rewards for a trip for two to Fiji.
2- Kyland/Taylor
3- Joseph/Adam
4- Izzy/Paige
Izzy and Paige are the last team to arrive and are eliminated. Paige is proud of Izzy and calls her the lover of her life. Izzy never thought they would have ever done the Amazing Race!
ORDER NOW:
1st – Jas/Jag
2nd – Kyland/Taylor
3rd – Joseph/Adam
Next week: Finale! New York City! Cookie Monster! Rappelling! Fabric Delivering! Until next time!
