Welcome to Leg 7! Last time, on Alliances on a Megaleg Seems Like a Good Idea Until It Isn’t, 8 teams raced to Córdoba, Argentina. Rod and Leticia, Amber and Vinny, and Angie and Danny formed an alliance that gets all teams help from the other ones. Angie overheated again. Juan and Shane pulled ahead of the pack and snagged a first place finish, while Derek and Shelisa fell behind and are eliminated. Who will be eliminated. . . next? (click for more)
Arrival at the pit stop last episode:

Plaza San Martín, Córdoba, Argentina
Teams check into the Pit Stop and are allowed to choose their accommodations in Uruguay using the Expedia App. (Toyouke: “Back in the day teams would sleep on the street and LIKE IT.”) They are transported by private plane from Argentina overnight to the southernmost capital city in South America, Montevideo, Uruguay, where they will run the next leg. They depart from the Pit Start in fifteen minute increments.

First Departure 7:45 am
Juan/Shane (1st) – and Shane is recovering from food poisoning in Argentina, so he’s a little weak.
Ricky/Cesar (2nd) – and Ricky thinks things are remarkably calm at the moment.
Second Departure 8:00 am
Rod/Leticia (3rd) – and they are happy that they are getting along well. (Toyouke: “Rod and Leticia seem to be much healthier in terms of communication.”)
Amber/Vinny (4th) - and they are going to run their own race today. That should go well. (Toyouke: “I don't know how people watched Amber go from zero to "this is not a good way to start the leg" and still insist she's got no blame in their toxic relationship.”)
Third Departure 8:15 am
Angie/Danny (5th) – they are also going to run their own race today. Yes, because your alliance is in the other departure group. (Toyouke: “"We want to run our own race today" = "helping people screwed us and both the other teams with us will win a footrace"”)
Yvonne/Melissa (6th) – and they aren’t thrilled to be starting in the back of the pack again.
Sunny/Bizzy (7th) – they are convinced they need to get to first place, and that’s happening today. Bizzy: "We just step over their bodies after completing tasks before them."
(Toyouke: “Ah, the teams are divided as expected.”) So teams make their way to get their cars, get in and drive to Puerto Logistico, only to arrive in the following order:
1- Ricky/Cesar
2- Juan/Shane
3- Amber/Vinny
4- Rod/Leticia
5- Angie/Danny
6- Yvonne/Melissa
7- Sunny/Bizzy
When they rip open the clue, teams get the eighth roadblock.
ROADBLOCK:
Who wants to make sparks fly?
In this roadblock, one team member must weld together two pieces of metal which must pass a strength test. Once they do, teams receive their next clue from the master welder.
The following teammates take the Roadblock:
1- Cesar – who knows how to weld, because he learned to make his dad proud of him. (Toyouke: “Added advantage: Cesar can understand all the instructions. I mean, they're not complicated. But still. “)
2- Shane – who takes it so Juan can rest.
3- Vinny – who has welded a little, but wants to impress Amber’s father who is a welder.
4- Rod
5- Danny – who knows how to weld because he is an engineer and has built robots.
6- Yvonne – who doesn’t weld, but Melissa’s dad does.
7- Sunny – who welds as part of her job for the fire department.
After much welding, teams complete the Roadblock in the following order:
1- Amber/Vinny – (Toyouke: “I mean they jumped two places, so Vinny did pull through on the Roadblock. No matter what else you want to say about him.”)
2- Rod/Leticia
3- Ricky/Cesar
4- Juan/Shane
5- Angie/Danny
6- Sunny/Bizzy
7- Yvonne/Melissa
Teams are now instructed to drive themselves to Ciudad Vieja and search the plaza near Mercado del Puerto to get their next clue. They discover when they get there this is actually the Plaza de la Fuente. Teams arrive in the following order:
1- Amber/Vinny – who somehow manage to get here even with all their squabbling. (Toyouke: “I guess Vinny could be less rude about it, but he has a point if she doesn't speak Spanish. In addition to the part where he said "turn right" and she said "your right?" because I don't have a ton of faith that response? Amber, you can't say "let's drop it" and then keep going. Whether or not you're right. OK see now I see why everyone is up in arms. All they hear is Vinny going "I hope you realize what you're doing to this team" which is a bitchy thing to say. But if she doesn't know Spanish and he does, then he's going to have to talk to people. He's being an ass about her sulking, but she's not without blame and I don't think this is a giant red flag that he's abusive and should be in jail. But I certainly don't think they should be together.”)
2- Ricky/Cesar – (Toyouke: “Contrast this with Ricky and Cesar discussing trust and working on giving up control.”)
3- Angie/Danny

7- Sunny/Bizzy – who are happy to be in Monty-Video.
Teams open their clues and we get the eighth Detour Clue.
DETOUR:
Candombe OR Murga
*Candombe: Teams drive themselves to Calle Isla de Flores and put on a costume. Then they must join a drum line to learn a drum routine. When performed correctly, the drum leader will give them their next clue.
*Murga: Teams drive themselves to Plaza Juan Ramon Gomez and put on a costume. Then they must learn a song in Spanish and sing and dance with a group. When preformed to the satisfaction of the director, he will give them their next clue.
Teams drive to their Detour option and arrive in the following order:
1- Amber/Vinny choose Candombe – (Toyouke: “I can't tell if Vinny just switches moods quickly or what, because now that they're not driving he keeps saying encouraging things. Amber says he's getting on her for not picking up the drums fast enough, but I'm not hearing Vinny bugging her about the drums. Surely they would have left that in? Unless they mean right now in confessional when he's basically saying "Amber does this to herself"? OK if you have the self-awareness to tell a national television audience that you feel like a failure in your relationship, then why don't you have the self-awareness to break up? You also can't insist you're not getting it but also refuse to switch. ”)
2- Ricky/Cesar choose Murga – (Toyouke: “Those boys found the perfect task for them.”)
3- Angie/Danny choose Candombe
4- Yvonne/Melissa choose Murga
5- Juan/Shane choose Candombe
6- Rod/Leticia choose Candombe
7- Sunny/Bizzy choose Candombe
Much singing, dancing and performing ensues. So, teams complete the detour in the following order:
1- Ricky/Cesar
2- Angie/Danny - (Toyouke: “I mean, Angie and Danny did well, I just can't handle his smug face.”)
3- Amber/Vinny
4- Juan/Shane
5- Rod/Leticia
6- Yvonne/Melissa
7- Sunny/Bizzy
Teams are now instructed to drive themselves to Playa Malvin, the PIT STOP of the seventh leg of this racearoundtheworld. The last team to arrive WILL be eliminated!
1- Ricky/Cesar – who win Expedia One Key Cash for a 5 night trip for 2 to Paris. France.
2- Angie/Danny - (Toyouke: “YOU ARE NOT A THREAT YOU SKINNY TWINK.”)
3- Rod/Leticia
4- Amber/Vinny
5- Yvonne/Melissa
6- Juan/Shane
7- Sunny/Bizzy
And Sunny and Bizzy are eliminated. Bizzy feels rejuvenated and is happy to have found herself. Sunny believes they have found sisterhood. Both realize that it’s fun being firefighters and moms.

You have to go back? Radio them? Also because I know you'll want to look it up: I believe the last time a team lost their crew was all the way back when they were still doing Indian trains. I believe someone got on a train and there was a shot from the platform, but it didn't seem like the camera got on the train.”) Until next time!
