Welcome to Leg 5! Last time, on The Amazing Race Is Not the Time to Figure Out Your Relationship, 10 teams raced to Medellin, Colombia. The dating nurses fought their way through the leg. The firefighters didn't understand rebus puzzles, but had no problem with maps and passing other teams. Danny decided he’s a nice person and tried to work with everyone. The boyfriends ended up in first again, and Michelle and Sean, the aerobics instructors, were eliminated. Who will be eliminated. . . next? (click for more)

Teams are transported by private plane from Colombia overnight to Santiago, Chile, where they will run the next leg. They depart from the Pit Start in fifteen minute increments.

Clue: Welcome to Santiago, Chile! Make your way to Monjitas Street, find the marked cars and drive yourselves using the provided map to find Marilyn Monroe’s Thunderbird at Argomedo Performance Garage.
First Departure 9:00 am
Ricky/Cesar (1st)
Amber/Vinny (2nd) – (Toyouke: “I mean at least Amber admitted she isn't blameless, but Vinny saying "we have to go at her pace" makes it sound like she's disabled or something. I think she can go faster than she was going.”)
Second Departure 9:15 am

Rod/Leticia (4th)
Juan/Shane (5th)
Third Departure 9:30 am

So teams make their way to get their cars. (Toyouke: “Ha ha, drive yourselves.”) Most of them can drive stick shift miraculously, except the cousins. (Toyouke: “I mean in this group? There's no way we wouldn't get stick shift shenanigans from at least one team.”) The third group runs out of their way before realizing how close the cars actually were to the Pit Start. Teams then make their way to the garage and arrive in the following order:

3- Angie/Danny
4- Rod/Leticia
5- Juan/Shane
6- Derek/Shelisa
7- Yvonne/Melissa
8- Kishori/Karishma
9- Sunny/Bizzy – who get lost right out of the gate.
Teams search the garage and find Marilyn Monroes’ Thunderbird guarded by Carlos Agromedo, who owns the garage and has the next clue. (Toyouke: “So this task is "go look at this car"? Somehow they're going to screw this up.”) Teams get their clues from Carlos in the following order:
1- Ricky/Cesar
2- Amber/Vinny
3- Angie/Danny – and Danny proceeds to give directions to NFL and the Air Force Bros. (Toyouke: “Stop helping them. They're going to outrun you at some point and then you're going to complain they didn't let you win.”)
4- Rod/Leticia
5- Juan/Shane
6- Yvonne/Melissa
7- Derek/Shelisa
8- Kishori/Karishma
9- Sunny/Bizzy
Teams are now instructed to drive themselves to Skatepark Parque Araucano. Teams arrive at the skatepark in the following order:
1- Angie/Danny
2- Rod/Leticia
3- Juan/Shane
4- Ricky/Cesar
5- Amber/Vinny – (Toyouke: “What exactly DOES help you, Amber, because Vinny can't ask you to go faster and he can't ask you to calm down and now he's driving too fast because he is being extra calm and polite and you can't find anything else to be mad about.”)
6- Yvonne/Melissa
7- Derek/Shelisa
8- Kishori/Karishma
9- Sunny/Bizzy
When they rip open the clue, teams get the fifth roadblock.
ROADBLOCK:
Who’s feeling board?
In this roadblock, one team member must choose a station and use the provided parts and tools to recreate a skateboard to the specifications of one of the skaters. Once teams have gotten them correct, Luna will hand them their next clue.
The following teammates take the Roadblock:
1- Danny – who continues helping teams. (Toyouke: “You can't complain people followed you when you spread your map on the car and gave them turn-by-turn directions. “)
2- Rod – who loses a nut on the ground, which slows down his process. Danny gleefully tells the camera he is saying he lost his nuts, his marbles, etc. (Toyouke: “HE IS NOT SAYING THAT DANNY STOP TRYING TO GET CAMERA TIME. Not once did he say any kind of innuendo.”)

After much skateboard construction, teams complete the Roadblock in the following order:
1- Angie/Danny

8- Sunny/Bizzy
9- Kishori/Karishma
Teams open their clues when they get them from Luna and we get the fifth Detour Clue.
DETOUR:
Perform for Pesos OR Climb for Clues
*Perform for Pesos: Teams drive themselves to Parque Quinta Normal and find the group of chinchineros. One team member puts on a one man band and learns a routine, while the other shakes maracas and asks onlookers for money. Once teams collect 2500 pesos, they return to the chinchineros, and one of them hands the team their next clue.
*Climb for Clues: Teams drive themselves to Parque Escalada Los Silo, which is a converted factory turned climbing wall. Team members take turns climbing to the top and retrieving a flag. Once both team members have their flag, teams get their next clue.
(Toyouke: “FYI: Current exchange rate says 2500 pesos is roughly $2.50.”)
Teams drive to their Detour option and arrive in the following order:
1- Ricky/Cesar choose Perform for Pesos – (Toyouke: “I feel like the boys' knowing Spanish has done more for them winning so much than any other racing skill. They're not super smart and they're not that athletic (although they do seem steady).”)
2- Juan/Shane choose Climb for Clues
3- Amber/Vinny choose Climb for Clues
4- Angie/Danny choose Perform for Pesos
5- Rod/Leticia choose Perform for Pesos – and Rod and Leticia switch roles in the middle of the Detour, which they are allowed to do. (Toyouke: “It's tricky to ask people for money but you know what? They switched jobs with a minimum of bitching and fighting.”)
6- Yvonne/Melissa choose Climb for Clues
7- Sunny/Bizzy choose Climb for Clues
8- Derek/Shelisa choose Climb for Clues
9- Kishori/Karishma choose Climb for Clues
Much chinchinero performing and wall climbing ensues. So, teams complete the detour in the following order:
1- Ricky/Cesar
2- Juan/Shane
3- Amber/Vinny
4- Angie/Danny – (Toyouke: “Thank GOD Angie called him out on causing his own problems. The other teams followed you because YOU TOLD THEM HOW TO GET THERE. Don't brag about how smart you are if you're going to solve all the puzzles for everyone else.”)
5- Rod/Leticia
6- Yvonne/Melissa
7- Sunny/Bizzy
8- Derek/Shelisa
9- Kishori/Karishma
Teams are now instructed to drive themselves to Estacion Mapocho, the PIT STOP of the fifth leg of this racearoundtheworld. The last team to arrive WILL be eliminated!
1- Ricky/Cesar – who win an Expedia One Key Cash 5 Night Trip for 2 to Singapore.
2- Juan/Shane

And Kishori and Karishma are eliminated. Karishma says they were running the race for her parents. And they are just happy to have made it five legs.
