TAR 33, Recap Leg 9, 2/23/22

Welcome to Leg 9! Last time, on Greece Is the Word, 5 teams travelled from France to Greece. Raquel had issues rolling grape leaves, while Arun and Natalia couldn’t spell souvlaki. YouTube won their third leg and the Twins couldn’t get it together and were eliminated. Who will be eliminated. . . next? (click for more)

Arrival at the pit stop last episode:

1st – Kim and Penn, The YouTube Parents

2nd – Raquel and Cayla, The Flight Attendants

3rd – Ryan and Dusty, Team Not Guilty

4th –Arun and Natalia, Team Bollywood Bonding

Nea Kallikrateia Pier, Nea Kallikrateia, Greece

9:00 AM Kim/Penn (1st) – Kim: “I’m doing the best that I can!”

Clue: Drive yourselves 30 miles to Thessaloniki and make your way to the Theatro Dassous to get your next clue.

(Toyouke: “I still miss airport drama but I LOVE how much they have to drive themselves.”)

9:00 AM Raquel/Cayla (2nd) – Cayla: “We haven’t won a leg yet, so today’s our day!”

9:15 AM Ryan/Dusty (3rd)

9:15 AM Arun/Natalia (4th)

Teams drive themselves to Thessaloniki and arrive at Theatro Dassous in the following order:

1- Kim/Penn

2- Raquel/Cayla

3- Ryan/Dusty

4- Arun/Natalia

When they rip open the clue, teams get the ninth roadblock.

ROADBLOCK:

Who will leave no stone unturned?

In this roadblock, one team member must find one of four rocks with a gold coin in it and present it to the Oracle of Delphi to get their next clue.

(Toyouke: “I don't like this Swedish Roulette.”)

The following teammates take the Roadblock:

1- Kim – “Worst spa day ever.” (Toyouke: “This whole scene with the Amazing Cameramen and Kim is the greatest.”)

2- Raquel

3- Dusty – who takes almost 3 hours.

4- Arun

After much stone flipping, teams complete the Roadblock in the following order:

1- Raquel/Cayla

2- Kim/Penn

3- Arun/Natalia

4- Ryan/Dusty

Teams are now instructed to drive themselves to the Trigonian Tower and find Socrates who will give them their next clue. Teams arrive in the following order:

1- Raquel/Cayla

2- Kim/Penn

3- Arun/Natalia – (Toyouke: “How do you find the parking but not how to go up the tower?”)

4- Ryan/Dusty

Teams open their clues and we get the eighth Detour Clue.

DETOUR:

Bring ’Em OR Break ‘Em

*Bring ‘Em: Teams must carry 300 plates up a hill to Café Jasmine. Once all 300 plates have been delivered, they will get their clue from the head waiter.

*Break ‘Em: Teams travel to Café Jamine and break 300 plates to find a clue baked inside one of them. They may only break plates while music is playing.

(Toyouke: “Who is going to carry plates and not break them? This is like the alphabet/dynamite detour.”)

1- Raquel/Cayla choose Break ‘Em – (Toyouke: “This leg has double Swedish Roulette and I don't know how I feel about that.”)

2- Kim/Penn choose Break ‘Em

3- Arun/Natalia choose Break ‘Em

4- Ryan/Dusty choose Break ‘Em

Much plate breaking ensues. So, teams complete the detour in the following order:

1- Raquel/Cayla

2- Kim/Penn

3- Arun/Natalia

4- Ryan/Dusty

Teams are now instructed to make their way to White Tower, the PIT STOP of the ninth leg of this racearoundtheworld. The last team to arrive MAY be eliminated!

1- Raquel/Cayla – who win a trip for two to Kauai.

2- Kim/Penn

3- Arun/Natalia

4- Ryan/Dusty

And Ryan and Dusty are the last team to arrive. But this is the last non elimination leg, and they are still in the race! But they will leave in the last time slot.

ORDER NOW:

1st – Raquel/Cayla

2nd – Kim/Penn

3rd – Arun/Natalia

4th – Ryan Dusty

Next week: Portugal! Two hour finale! LA! Until next time!
