Project Runway posts on Fridays

Hi all, I'm gonna make a blanket decision that Project Runway recaps will be posted on Fridays. School started back up and in addition to being wiped from school, the fact that it starts so late and I have to be up early means I don't really want to stay up.  Plus if I'm being honest? I don't have the motivation with how this season is progressing. So they're going to be up Friday afternoons/evenings.

Project Runway 8/14/25--"Sew Elementary" summary

Previously on “Project Runway”: We're apparently going to continue the nonsense of cliffhangers and waiting for the next week for eliminations. However, I've seen previews, and a shot from Good Morning America, with at least one spoiler. This is in addition to Heidi going out in a winning outfit and telling everyone whose it was. So even though we are going to have cliffhanger endings, we're also not putting forth any kind of effort to avoid actual spoilers. Anyway, Alex was eliminated, and then Ethan and Jesus picked their own teams because we don't have leadership or whatever. They had to make exciting clothes out of “boring” fabric, which is dumb because one fabric was denim and one was a lovely sage wool. Ethan wanted “showstoppers” so his whole team had completely ridiculous clothes and everyone hated them. Belania won because she was picked last. You know that's why. Ethan, Angelo, and Joan were the bottom three, with Joan having a slight edge. (click for more)

Project Runway 8/7/25--"Boring to Brilliant" summary

Previously on “Project Runway”: First things first, Caycee was the first person eliminated. They're going to keep this cliffhanger shit going all season, in case you were wondering how things were going on the new network. Then we kept the teams, but since Ethan won he was allowed to trade one person out from his team. He chose to get rid of Jesus and take Madeline. It means if there is any twin drama, it's on the other team. Then teams had to make athleisure looks that supposedly could be worn to cocktails. You can't have functional workout wear that can go to cocktails. Coffee maybe. Since it's a reality show, of course Jesus's new team won and Jesus was the individual winner. The implication was that no one took over Ethan's team so they didn't have direction, whereas the twins, while bossy, did force everyone to conform and be cohesive. Whatever. Also we continued with the chyrons counting down to the next event (Christian's visit, model fitting, whatever). I think if we're going to constantly update us on time left, you should give us the challenges in number of hours and not days, and then every chyron is just “X hours left”. Alex, Angelo, and Veejay are the bottom three, and they don't seem to narrow it down immediately like they did last time. (click for more)

Project Runway 7/31/25--"Feel the Burn" summary

Previously on “Project Runway”: we went right back to what people hated about the Lifetime seasons with twins and a team challenge. Oh and sponsors, because supposedly many designers get into fashion because of Disney princesses, so we had a Princesses group and a Villains group. Jesus decided to be in charge of his group, which meant calling people bitches and getting bossy, and then insisting it was just that other people were not team players. This continued after his team won and he got some negative critiques. Angelo (Jesus's twin) and Caycee (who was on season 19 and went out first) are the bottom two, but they ended the episode before we found out who lost. (click for more)

Project Runway 7/31/25--"New House, New Rules" summary

Previously on “Project Runway”: it's been a couple of years since we saw this show, and they ended with an All-Stars season for Season 20 so it seemed like maybe the show was ending. And then there was nothing for a long time. I have hesitations about this season, because we've moved off Bravo again. When the show was on Lifetime, the judging was...not great. Not that the judging has always been stellar all the time on Bravo. But I felt like Lifetime put so much emphasis on casting people with backstories, and drama, and things that were not design. And now there are no designers on the permanent judging panel! It's Nina and Law Roach, and Law is great but he is not a fashion designer. Also Heidi is back, and that's more drama. If you recall, when she and Tim left the show, they left at the same time. You remember that one year where we didn't get Project Runway but instead got Under the Gunn? That's because Tim and Heidi had an agreement that they would not do the show if the other one wasn't involved. Under the Gunn existed because Heidi couldn't film a season and Tim refused to do it without her. And now the current producers of Project Runway approached Heidi and not Tim, and when Tim's agent went asking about it, they said they were not interested. So there's some level of betrayal, added on to the fact that I did not miss Heidi at all. Anyway in summary I don't have high expectations for this season but I guess we'll see. (click for more)
