Welcome to Leg 12! Last time, on
Seriously Isn’t This Season Over Yet?, teams continued to race through
Peru. Mike and Rochelle finished last
and found themselves. . . not eliminated?
Yes that’s right folks, the final 3 is once again the final 4! But the leg starts NOW! And in the end one of these four teams will
be eliminated part way through the leg: Hayley and Blair, the blind dating
doctors in which Hayley can’t seem to shut up and Blair can’t seem to be anything
but snarky about it; Mike and Rochelle, the most improbable of the previously
dating couples to even still be in the race at this point; Jelani and Jenny,
the blind dating lawyers who are fairly cordial with each other, but fall apart
when Jenny unleashes her inner tiger mom; and Laura and Tyler, the blind dating
couple that actually likes looking at each other since they are quite
sexy. Who will win The Amazing Race 26? (click for more)
Arrival at the pit stop last episode:

Date night? Nope.
But we are reminded about the fact that Mike and Rochelle weren’t
eliminated, and the race continued into leg 12 immediately. Whatever.
Hayley/Blair (1st)
Clue: Fly 3000 miles to your FINAL
DESTINATION CITY: Dallas, Texas! Once
there, take a taxi to AT&T Stadium and search for your next clue.. WARNING: One team will be eliminated in the
middle of the leg.
Jelani/Jenny (2nd)
Laura/Tyler (3rd)
Mike/Rochelle (4th)
Teams arrive at the airport in the
following order:
1- Hayley/Blair
2- Jelani/Jenny
3- Laura/Tyler
4- Mike/Rochelle
And of course, the teams assume that
Mike and Rochelle have been eliminated, but surprise! They haven’t.
Teams manage to get on the same flights (shocking) and take the Amazing
Blue Line to Dallas. Teams arrive at DFW
in the following order:
1- Mike/Rochelle
2- Jelani/Jenny
3- Laura/Tyler
4- Hayley/Blair
Teams make their way to AT&T Stadium
and arrive in the following order:
1- Mike/Rochelle
2- Laura/Tyler
3- Jelani/Jenny
4- Hayley/Blair
And teams get the tenth Roadblock clue.
ROADBLOCK:
Who wants to score?
In this roadblock, roadblockers must
dress in Dallas Cowboy football gear and bungee cord to the top of the stadium
to pick up their playbook. Once back on
the field, roadblockers need to catch a touchdown pass and kick the extra point
successfully to get the next clue.
(Toyouke: “I feel like this task is an
unnecessary expense.”)
The following teammates (in a display of
hegemonic masculinity) take the Roadblock:
1- Mike
2- Tyler
3- Jelani
4- Blair
After much football playing, teams
finish the Roadblock in the following order:
1- Laura/Tyler
2- Hayley/Blair
3- Mike/Rochelle
4- Jelani/Jenny
Teams are now instructed to make their
way to P2 Ranch. They arrive in the
following order:
1- Hayley/Blair – but not after their
taxi driver has no idea where it is, and they waste twenty minutes waiting on
other teams, that they later decide was a bad idea.
2- Laura/Tyler
3- Jelani/Jenny
4- Mike/Rochelle – who let their cab go
when they got to the stadium. Oops. (Auburnium0513: “I thought letting that cab
go was a bad idea.”) Then, three minutes
from the ranch, their cab driver decides he needs gas. Double oops.
Teams are now instructed to work as
cowboys by getting into appropriate costumes and help to wrangle six Longhorn
cattle into a pen. Once the cattle are
in their pens, teams get their next clue.
Oh, and there’s horse riding.
Teams wrangle the cattle and complete
the task in the following order:
1- Hayley/Blair
2- Jelani/Jenny
3- Laura/Tyler
Mike and Rochelle arrive just in time to discover that the
cattle have all been wrangled and the arrival of Phil to tell them that this is
the final elimination of the Race. They
were disappointed, but now have to hurry and get to the mat!
(Auburnium0513: “I am irritated by the
fact that only gimmick teams are actually running for the grand prize.”) Teams are now instructed to make their way to
Reunion Tower for their next clue. Teams
arrive in the following order:
1- Hayley/Blair
2- Laura/Tyler
3- Jelani/Jenny
And teams get the eleventh and final
Roadblock clue.
ROADBLOCK:
Who has a sharp eye?
In this roadblock, roadblockers travel
to the top of the tower and rappel down the side while looking for red and
yellow flags marking their next destination near the railroad tracks.
The following teammates take the
Roadblock:
1- Hayley – who inexplicably misses the
flags and send s the team to a parking deck.
And then she redoes the task.
2- Laura
3- Jenny
After much rappeling, teams finish the
Roadblock in the following order:
1- Hayley/Blair
2- Laura/Tyler
3- Jelani/Jenny
Teams now find out that they need to
make their way to the red and yellow flags on the Trinity River, where a
monster truck rally is taking place.
Teams arrive in the following order:
1- Laura/Tyler
2- Jelani/Jenny
3- Hayley/Blair
Teams are instructed to drive a monster
truck through the mud pit to get to the storage shed that holds their final
task.
FINAL TASK:
Teams find locked sheds with a
combination lock and four locations. The
four locations are placees that correspond to specific legs: Buchhandlung (Leg
8, Namibia), Baan Teelanka (Leg 3, Thailand), Munttoren (Leg 9, The
Netherlands), Kanda Myojin (Leg 1, Japan).
The locations are in a different order for each team, and the order
corresponds to the number on the combination lock. Once the lock is open, teams find enlarged
selfies that they took during the race.
Teams then arrange them on a world map in chronological order from RIGHT
to LEFT in order to get their clue from Big Tom, the judge.
(Toyouke: “Seriously? The selfie cams actually are involved in the
final task? I’m both satisfied and
annoyed at the same time.”)
Teams complete the task in the following
order.
1- Laura/Tyler
2- Jelani/Jenny
3- Hayley/Blair
Teams are now instructed to drive the
monster truck back through the mud to get their clue. Teams arrive in the following order:
1- Laura/Tyler
2- Jelani/Jenny
3- Hayley/Blair
Teams now learn that they must take a
taxi to Continental Avenue Bridge to find the FINISH LINE of this
racearoundtheworld. The first team to
arrive WILL win the Amazing Race!

2- Jelani/Jenny
3- Hayley/Blair
5 continents, 8 countries, 35000 miles, Tyler and Laura, you are the winners
of The Amazing Race 26! And we learn
that none of the couples are going to continue their relationships after the
race. Phil: “What kind of love did you
find?” Tyler: “A love of the
world!” We do learn that Jeff and Jackie
are still seeing each other, and Matt and Ashley are still engaged. Woo.
